It was a Saturday and Kongpob and the rest of the pack were on break from their school. They have decided that this day would be the perfect time to go to Arthit’s apartment and to the shop where he worked at.

He had called the rest of the pack to guard Arthit when they go to the neutral zone. They would head over when it’s still daylight because it was the safest time of the day, away from the prying eyes of the supernatural.

Arthit had given him a wary smile, still feeling somewhat nervous coming back to the shop where he was attacked. Kongpob understood, giving him a reassuring smile.

Aim shifted into a white raven, flying into the sky that would serve as their eyes from above. Dae and Tew went on ahead to scout the area before Kongpob and Arthit went on their own way.

It was a quiet stroll. There were a lot of people and cars on the street, what with it being a weekend. Kongpob was thankful for the crowd. If the Rung pack made their move, it would make it harder for them to intercept.

“Are you sure it’s safe to go back there?” Arthit asked, chewing his lips.

The alpha traced the movement with his eyes, only snapping his gaze on Arthit’s face when the other was seemingly waiting for a reply.

It had been happening a lot lately; him being distracted by Arthit.

It’s not like it’s a bad thing, it’s just that Kongpob was left confused most of the time.

He’s aware of the constant presence of the newly turned wolf; it’s like no matter where Arthit seemed to be, or whatever it is the other guy was doing, Kongpob was somewhat aware of his wellbeing.

Kongpob couldn’t really explain it, but there’s something inside him that tells him that Arthit was alright, or if Arthit was in some form of distress or discomfort. And when that happens, the alpha always made sure to make amends.

He cleared his throat and replied, “It’s safe, P’Arthit. No werewolf or vampire would dare cause trouble on the neutral zone.”

    “Vampires?” Arthit squeeked.

“Not like they can freely walk under the sun,” Kongpob smirked. “Besides, the whole pack is behind us. Nothing to worry about.”

The alpha flashed his eyes red for a second, linking with Aim who was at the sky. He sighed when he was assured there were no visible threats.

It’s one of Kongpob’s major abilities – able to link with his pack members therefore giving him access to their senses; for Dae, he’s able to link through him by his voice – hence the howl, for Tew, his sense of hearing, for Aim, although not technically a werewolf, Kongpob was able to access his vision.

    As for Arthit . . .

It’s still something Kongpob had yet to figure out. He was thinking it would have something to do with the sense of smell, but the alpha couldn’t confirm it because Arthit hasn’t tried linking with him yet.

“Can we make a quick stop over?” Kongpob’s attention was brought back with Arthit pointing over a particular shop.

    “Caffeine?” he quirked a brow.

    “Not necessarily,” Arthit smiled sheepishly.

He followed his beta to the store, preferring to stand guard at the front door rather than accompany Arthit inside. Although it was daylight, Kongpob couldn’t let his guard down. They have yet to figure out what the Rung pack wants with Arthit. And until that is certain, they can’t act recklessly.
