Tony Stark
"There's been an escape."
I can feel my face pale at General Ross' words, but try to keep a nonchalant stance.
"Well, s**t."
I see Rhodes struggle to get to his feet; I guess he still hasn't gotten used to the prosthetics.
Ross continues.
"I hope you do realize that you should take full responsibility. After all, this was your team."
I cringe at the word was.
The Avengers aren't, well, the Avengers we used to be.
"Well, I mean, technically, this is your prison, so shouldn't I be the one getting pissed because you let my prisoners escape?" I retort.
Ross sighs, as if it's a burden to deal with me. In fact, he should be honored to even talk with me.
Suddenly, my mind reels back to the conversation me and Romanoff had a while ago.
"Aren't you capable of letting go of your goddamn ego for one second?"
I guess I'm not.
