Albus Severus Potter looked out of the Kings Cross train waving goodbye to both of his parents. His mother was tearing up and his father was smiling at him proudly. He was starting to get a little bit sad himself, though of course eagerness overtook most of his emotions. He couldn't wait to arrive at Hogwarts. Just at that moment the train had started moving, and further and further away his parents came to be. They grew smaller, and smaller and smaller until they vanished and the train rounded a corner. That was the moment when he finally stopped waving.

FOOOOOOSHHH! The compartment door had slide open revealing a young pale boy with white blondish hair and eyes almost the same colour as ice. He was slightly taller than Albus by an inch and was very well dressed for a boy of the age of eleven. To most girls he would have been considered good looking though to Al, he looked just like any other boy that came from a rich family. He looks slightly familiar...Albus thought.

"Oh hello." said the boy "Is this seat already taken?" He pointed his hands at the chair in front of Albus. The boy had quite a high pitched voice (though most boys around eleven had that, too) but he still had very good mannerisms.

"Errrr...No. You can sit down if you like." Albus replied hesitantly.

"Thanks. The boy took his seat. My name is Scorpius by the way. Scorpius, Scorpius Malfoy. I assume that you're name is Albus Severus Potter? Named after the Great Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, the Ex-Ex-Headmaster of Hogwarts and even Severus Snape, the Ex-Headmaster of Hogwarts."

"Uh...Yes? Pleasure to meet you, Scorpius. I think I saw you with you're family. Our parents seem to know each other quite well." Albus stated puzzled by how this boy knew his name even before they ever met. This first encounter was turning out to be a bit awkward.

Albus was the one who stuck out his hand as a hello, but Scorpius was very reluctant to shake it.

"Go on! It's okay- I don't bite." Albus smiled. Why won't he shake my hand? This is getting more stranger by the second...Al thought to himself.

"Well it's not that. It's just don't you know anything between my family and yours?" Scorpius asked confused by this generous manner.

When Albus didn't answer, Scorpius went on, "Our families are rivaled together."

Albus looked at Scorpius in alarm and let his hand droop.

"Oh. That explains why Uncle Ron warned Rose about you..." Albus mumbled to himself.

"Sorry? I didn't quite catch that, Albus." Scorpius looked up at Al.

"Oh! Sorry nothing it's just tha-" Al was fortunately cut off by the sliding of the compartment door.

Shhhhhooooooom. "Wow, they really need to get this sliding doors fixed. Such a loud noise..." ,The familar voice of Rose Weasley rang in Albus's ears.

"Hi Rose!" Al was relieved to see her. Maybe she can start up a conversation, she knows tons of information about Hogwarts. She's practically a walking encyclopedia! Albus thought. "Please take a seat and come and join us!"

"Oh hi again, Albus! James told me where you were at so I thou-" Rose glanced at Scorpius and froze mid-sentence, glaring at him. "And what in the name of Merlin's pants are you doing here?"

Scorpius couldn't resist a smirk. "Couldn't you come up with anything better than 'Merlin's pants' , Miss. Weasley? Even Merlin's great beard would've done!"

"W-why my Mother always says it so, I had supposed it would have been a saying or something along the lines of tha-" Rose had gone a light shade of pink at her embarressment and was cut off by Scorpius's surprisingly loud laughter. "What is so funny!?"
