"Anthony?" Jasmine called, peeking into the bedroom.
No, he wasn't in here either.
But what was that lump under the bed covers?
"...Anthony?" Jasmine asked quietly. "Is that you?"
"...no," the lump murmured. "Anthony died six hours ago."
"Oh no! If that's the case, then I might as well eat all of his snacks that I know he hides at the back of the cupboard!"
"Please don't!" Anthony swiftly emerged from under the covers. He was red in the face from being under the covers for so long.
Jasmine snorted. "So you aren't dead?"
Anthony grinned. "Nope! You have been fooled!"
"What an idiot I am." Jasmine grinned back at him. "Anyway...what were you doing under there? Masturbating?"
Anthony's grin faded into a scowl. "No. That's gross..." He bit his lip. "I was...hiding."
"From what? I'm not that terrifying, am I?"
This earned a weak giggle from Anthony. "No...I was hiding from-"
There was an incredibly loud bang outside, making Anthony whimper and dive under the covers once again.
Jasmine understood. "Ah...you don't like the storm?" She asked softly, quickly heading over to the bed and perching on the end of it.
"N-No...it's loud, and it hurts m-my ears..."
"Do you have sensitive ears?"
"Yes," Anthony replied miserably, sniffling.
Jasmine frowned. "How come you never told me?" She asked gently, pulling the covers off and throwing them onto the floor.
Anthony looked at her, tears in his eyes. "I-I thought you w-would m-make f-fun of m-me," the man admitted gloomily. He looked down, ashamed of himself.
"Hey," Jasmine's voice echoed. "I would never make fun of you for having sensitive ears. That's just wrong," she said and threw her arms around him.
He blinked in surprise. "Do you really mean that?" Anthony wondered, putting his arms around her too.
"Of course I do." Jasmine chuckled. "I love you, Anthony."
"...yeah! I love you too-"
Bang.
Anthony cried out, terrified.
"Shh, it's okay..." Jasmine cooed softly, pulling back a bit to look at her boyfriend.
He was properly crying now, tears dripping down his freckled cheeks. "I-I don't like it Jasmine," Anthony whispered frantically. "It really hurts!"
Jasmine winced, feeling awful for him. "I know, baby boy, I know..." She hugged him again, but much tighter this time.
Anthony sniffed and buried his face into her neck. "It's not just my ears," he began. "I also just think it's scary...so many people get hit by lightning, and some people die!"
"Well, we're inside, so we'll be safe from it...alright?"
"A-Alright..." He slowly looked out the window at the storm. The sky was blacker than charcoal, with plenty of grey rainclouds scattered everywhere. "I do like how pretty the lightening is, though..." Anthony murmured.
"Yes, it's nice, isn't it?" Jasmine agreed, running a slow hand through Anthony's fluffy curls.
"It's all...bright and glowy...and-"
