okay so just a heads up
Jasmine is a bit of a bitch in this story- 'accidentally' not noticing Anthony's feelings, brushing him off, ya know...
but there is a good reason, and you'll find out why in the future lol
ps Jasmine has a small eating disorder in this story but don't worry, she gets help in the end xx
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anthony and Jasmine had been roommates for a few years now and were very close. Everyone who lived in the same apartment building as them, as well as their friends, knew that Anthony was madly in love with Jasmine- you'd be blind not to see it.
But maybe Jasmine was blind because she couldn't see it at all. She only saw Anthony as her best friend, and nothing more.
Or rather, she refused to acknowledge such a thing.
It was odd, considering the fact that he made it pretty damn obvious.
Anywho, our tAle begins on a lazy Saturday morning. Jasmine was sat at the table, pouring a lot of cereal into her bowl- so much so that it would probably overflow if she added a lot of milk to the concoction.
"Jasmine?" Anthony shuffled into the room with his toast, then sat down beside her.
"Yeah?" Jasmine asked, pouring the milk into her cereal.
"Would you ever.....date me? Say if we had no other options..."
Jasmine suddenly stopped pouring the milk and looked at him with a sad expression on her face. "Anthony...we've been over this," She said softly, putting the lid back on the milk. "I am not interested in you...not romantically, at least."
"I-I know, but-"
"Anthony..." She put a hand on his cheek. "I'm sorry, bab. I truly am. But...I don't like you like that."
"You really need to work on your body language," Anthony mumbles, biting his toast sourly.
Jasmine laughed and pulled her hand away. "Sorry. But...I don't get it."
"What don't you get, Jas?"
"You say...'if we had no other options'...but you do have options...you have all these women...probably even some dudes...who would give their right foot to date you...and yet you keep pestering me about me dating you?"
"Pestering...?" Anthony stopped and looked at her, slightly hurt.
Jasmine looked into his eyes and sighed. "Anthony- no...I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that...I meant...why do you keep speaking to me about dating? You've got sooooooo many choices...but you don't talk to any of them...just me."
"Who needs other people when you've got a best friend?" He asked, with a grin.
Jasmine smiled. "Yeah,...you're right," She said, then started eating her slightly overflowing bowl of cereal hungrily.
'Thank God she's eating,' Anthony thought, watching her intently. Lately, Jasmine had been skipping meals, and Anthony had an idea why.
He had noticed someone comment on her one of her Instagram photos that she looked like a fat pig.
It was probably her ex, Marc, who was still madly in love with her but he hated her for dumping him at the same time.
But why was he still in love with her? She didn't want to be him.
'That makes two of us,' Anthony thought solemnly. He had no idea why he was still chasing after her. Jasmine couldn't love him.
Anthony was more than willing to wait for her until she was done healing, but even then he knew she only wanted to be his friend.
Oh well.
'Plenty more fish in the sea, Anthony.' He reminded himself stoutly, sipping his bitter orange juice.
Jasmine ate a few spoonfuls of her cereal then stopped and looked down at it. "Do I have to finish all of this?" She asked him quietly.
"Well, I think you overdid it a little..." Anthony said, scooping some of the milk off the top of her bowl. "But yes, bab, I want you to eat it all."
Jasmine's lip quivered and looked down at the bowl. "But it's too much," She mumbled, swallowing the lump in her throat. "It's too much, Anthony." A tear slid down her cheek.
Anthony reached over and wiped the tear off her cheek. He then scooted his chair closer to hers and said: "Do you want me to feed you again?"
"Y-Yes please."
Anthony scooped some of the cereal up then put it to her lips, and Jasmine slowly parted her lips and took the spoon inside her mouth, the metal clanking against her teeth. She licked the cereal off the spoon then shuffled back a bit.
They did this for a while before Jasmine had finished nearly all of it. "Hmm. That'll do, I guess."
He said, putting the spoon down.Jasmine looked relieved. "Phew," She murmured.
"Jas?"
"Yeah?" She looked at him.
"Show me your stomach," He said, firmly but softly.
Jasmine looked away, then steadily lifted up her shirt all the way up to her chest line (**slightly sensitive bit here**).
Her stomach was still lacking muscle and she looked weak, trying to stick it out to make herself look fatter.
"Oh, Jasmine..." Anthony sighed.
"I-I am trying-" She said quickly, putting her shirt down again.
"I know, princess." He cooed, then said "Do you want to watch Brooklyn 99 now?
"Y-Yes p-please," Jasmine muttered shakily, standing up slowly. Anthony took her hand and lead her to the sofa, then sat down, and gently pulled her onto his lap. Jasmine mumbled her approval then snuggled up to him, eyes fixed on the screen.
Anthony's heart began to beat a little faster as she did this, but he tried to ignore it and turned the TV on, hoping to forget what Jasmine had said about not feeling the same way as he did about her.
