"Peter...what is that?" May asked me as she saw me on the floor.
"Uh...May I can explain," I said hastily.
"I don't want you to explain. I want you to answer me. What is that?" May repeated.
"My...my supersuit," I admitted regretfully.
"Your super...you're a superhero?!" May nearly shouted.
"Shh! They might hear you," I warned.
"Sorry. This is...how are...please tell me you just have a suit and you just go out and fight crime," May asked.
"Uh...noo..no I have actual powers," I responded as I slowly crawled up the wall of my room. May had this utterly flabbergasted look on her face.
"How do you have powers? Why do you have powers? How do you have powers?!" May asked frantically.
"You already said that," I acknowledged.
"Doesn't matter!" May stated.
"Alright. When I was in New Urbem I got bit by a really weird spider. Then I got these powers and I just decided to do good with them," I quickly explained.
"Did Ben know about this?" May asked.
"No. He didn't. He died before I could tell him," I said somberly.
"So...you fight crime? Like...actually crime? Like armed with guns and stuff crimes?" May inquired. I nodded and she put her hand on her forehead in exhausted shock.
"Look. I'm good at this. I've...sort of been at this for like a year," I tried to calm.
"So you've been going out, risking your life and basically lying to me for a year," She noted.
"Uh...yeah?" I answered.
"So...may I ask. Why do you do this to yourself?" She asked me sincerely.
"I mean. Uncle Ben told me about great power granting great responsibility. I have these powers so I feel like I have that responsibility to help people in anyway I can," I responded.
"Oh Peter...you are out of your mind...and you have your mind in a good place. Just...be careful alright? Don't be out too late?" May concerned.
"I'll try," I said as I put my suit on and jumped out of the window to go be Spider-Man.
Aunt May's POV
I just saw my nephew jump out of his window and go swing off to fight crime after finding out...he has spider powers. Did not think this would all come out over chinese food.
The Parrs! I realized as I ran down the stairs and saw them all having a concerned look.
"Is Peter alright?" Bob asked as he was about to get up.
"No he's alright! He just....remembered he needed to get sleep because he's been apparently getting home late," I said, trying to make an excuse for why Peter won't be coming back to the table.
"Did he tell you why he's getting home late?" Violet asked.
"Uh...he keeps getting caught in...traffic! Yeah traffic that's right. He keeps needing to find a way to get home and that just takes a lot out of him," I explained, hoping the Parrs would buy this reasoning.
"That's it? I thought itbwas something cool. Like he was secretly a superhero or something," Dash said in disappointment. I sighed in relief becauee I think I just saved Peter's secret from getting let out.
"Well this was nice. We should be getting home though. Peter seems extremely nice and we're glad to hace him in the neighborhood," Helen said as the family got up and left the house. I sighed in stressed relief and waited for Peter to get home.
Peter's POV
I'm glad Aunt May is understanding about me being Spider-Man, I just hope she won't worry about me too much. She's worried too much for one lifetime. I swung to where the car chase was still progressing. There were some cars that were worse for wear...with a detail that seemed to confuse me.
