Violet's POV
We just barely avoided being crushed by a piece of plane as we went back up to the surface of the water. Dash and I were both freaking out, but mom helped us calm down...in like the worst way possible.
"Get a grip or so help me I will ground you two for a month!" She shouted. Dash and I calmed down and mom had a chance to regain her composer.
"Those were short range missiles. Land based, that way's our best bet," Mom said, pointing in the direction of smoke trails the missiles left.
"You want to go towards the people that just tried to kill us?" Dash asked in confusion.
"If it means land. Yes," Mom replied.
"Two thing. One. You expect us to swim there? Two, we still need to find Peter," I brought up. Mom looked around and realized Peter was still nowhere to be seen.
"He must be underwater. I'll go look for him, you two stay here," Mom ordered as she took a big breath and dove under back underwater. Dash and I waited on top of the water.
"Ok. I'll say this now. If you do have a crush on Peter? Good choice, he's awesome!" Dash said with a chuckle and smile, as if emphasizing the awesome.
"I uh...guess you're right?" I finally said.
"Wait do you actually have a crush on him?" Dash asked in surprise. I gave an unsure shrug.
"He's weird, he's mysterious, he has superpowers, and he's apparently so smart that he makes on the fly calculations," I listed off.
"So he's sort of like you? He knows how to blend into a crowd?" Dash jokingly compared.
"Actually...when I first met Peter? He actually did say he was really good at blending in," I responded.
"Wow," Dash said. Mom was rising back up the surface, having an unconscious Peter over her shoulder.
"He was nearly buried under the wreck of the plane. He's just unconscious, but who knows how much water went into his lungs?" Mom explained. She passed Peter to me as she stretched herself into a boat.
"Get on," She ordered. I got onto the boat and pulled Peter onto the boat.
Jeez, for a skinny kid he's heavy when he's unconscious. I thought as Dash helped me push Peter onto the boat. We laid him down flat and I just sat next to his unconscious body. Dash used his speed to push Mom's boat form along the water like a boat engine. After about 2 hours, we found an island. We made it to the beach of the island, Mom let her form go back to normal as we all collectively collapsed onto the sand.
"Good job, Dash," Mom encouraged. I looked over at Peter and immediately tried to wake him up. I immediately tried to pull his mask off, trying to figure out where the mask ended and the rest of his suit begins. I eventually found the edge of the mask and pulled it off.
"Mom, what was that thing you do to someone that's unconscious and has water in their lungs?" I asked.
"CPR. Let me help," Mom said as she mustered enough energy to crawl over to Peter and place her hands on his chest. She started pressing down on his chest, I guess in an effort to force some exhales so the water can get the water out of his lungs.
"I don't think it's working mom," I said.
"Then you'll have to give him mouth to mouth in order to actually force the water out of his lungs," Mom instructed. I sort of paled a bit but had to swallow my pride and needed to make sure Peter makes it out of this. Mom pinched Peter's nose closed and I took a deep breath, pressing my mouth to Peter's and forcing the air down into his lungs. I felt Peter start to react and mom and I both backed off of him, his eyes snapped open and he started coughing the water out of his lungs.
"I'm alright! I'm good!" Peter said as he coughed a bit more water out.
