"What?" Mrs. Parr asked.

"Today's fiasco with the Underminer. Government's stopped funding the SRP. Heroes are forced to fend for themselves now," Rick stated

"What?!" I asked in fury, storming up to Rick.

"We risk our lives, and one screwup sends us out?!" I questioned.

"Politicians don’t understand people who do good things. That makes them nervous. They’ve been gunnig for supers for years. Today was all they needed," Rick Dicker explained.

"Then maybr those politicians need to fight the Underminer," I seethed.

"I'm mad too, but we all need to move from this. To get out of a hole, you need to put down the shovel first," Rick said begrudgingly. He then looked back at Mr. and Mrs. Parr.

"I've done all I can," Rick said. The two hugged him.

"Thank you...for everything," Mrs. Parr said gratefully.

"Best of luck to you all," Rick said as he got into a car and drove off. I was still livid.

"Peter, it's alright. We'll be able to recover from this," Mrs. Parr tried to comfort.

"No! It isn't okay! Politicians shouldn't be able to dictate what us heroes should do! They don't know what we have to do! What we have to SACRIFICE TO DO THE THINGS WE CAN DO!" I exploded. Everyone was taken aback from my absolute rage.

"I'm...I'm sorry. I just...my uncle had a lot of respect to your guys," I confessed.

"Oh. So being a hero is like a memorial to him?" Violet asked. I gave a simple nod.

"Look. We've all had a long day. A lot happened. How about we just have some Chinese food to clear our heads?" Aunt May said, trying to defuse the tense atmosphere.

"Chinese food sounds good May," Mr. Parr said as we all went back inside the house. The food arrived and we all sat down to eat.

"So...are we going to talk about today?" Violet asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"She means mom and dad sticking us with babysitting," Dash piped up. This caused their parents to get involved in the conversation.

"What? We didn't stick you with babysitting. We just made sure you weren't in any danger," Mrs. Parr defended.

"We fought a giant robot 3 months ago! We helped you on the island!" Violet piped up.

"The Underminer is a different person entirely from Syndrome!" Mr. Parr brought up.

"You could have at least let us help! Peter told us to go around, making sure the civilians were out of harm's way!" Dash shouted.

"You let our kids run around the dangerous terrain?!" Mrs. Parr asked, directing her attention to me.

"Look. On that island, your kids showed me they have that potential to br great heroes. They won't show that potential though, if you keep benching them," I explained, pleading my case. This back and forth went on, with Mrs. Parr bringing up how supers are still illegal. Which made me lose my composure.

"Will you stop bringing that up? Everyone at this table is well aware about that stupid law. Does anyone at this table care though? I sure don't!" I snapped, slamming my hand onto the table.

"Woah, calm there down spidey," I heard a new voice speak up. I looked to where I heard the voice. It was Lucius, wearing a trenchcoat which obviously had his Frozone suit on underneath.

"Hey where were you earlier?" Mr. Parr asked.

"Well I saved a train from falling to its demise and left before I got tracked," Lucius answered casually.

"Okay. So what do you need?" I asked.

"Well, it's something that I need you three for and you three alone," Lucius stated, pointing to the two Parr parents and myself.

"Me? You need me as well for this?" I said in surprise, looking at Aunt May. May gave a kind smile and I got up with the two Parrs and went outside with Lucius.

"So I was approached by a guy. The owner of a tech company, he wants to try and bring supers back," Lucius said. This caught my attention.

"Who?" I asked.

"Winston Deavor," Lucius said.

"Deavor...DevTech. The telecommunications company," I realized.

"Yep, and he has someone else wanting the same thing," Lucius continued.

"Who else?" Mrs. Parr asked.

"I don't know. He said we'll find out when he get there," Lucius said

"That is...if you all agree-"

"I'll go," I said immediately.

"Peter!" Mrs. Parr scolded.

"What? I want people to see supers the same way my uncle did do. Is that wrong?" I asked.

"He's got a point. If his uncle supported supers as an idea, there were people who still care enough," Mr. Parr agreed. Mrs. Parr sighed in slight anger and annoyance.

"Alright. Alright. We'll go, but you two need to have an open mind," Mrs. Parr caved.

"I'm telling you, this will be a decision we won't regret," Lucius assured.
