>>>Aaliyah's POV<<<

Tears roll down my face as Gabriel walks out of the door. My heart is beating faster than ever because I keep thinking about Devon and wondering if he's okay. Pulling at the ropes once again, I finally realize that there's no way I can get out of them. I'm quickly snapped out of my thoughts by a knock on the door.

"Gabriel!? Is that you?" I ask, turning my head towards the door.

"No, I'm Patrick and I work for Mr. Hayes. Myself and another guy who is waiting in the living room were instructed to untie you and keep an eye on you."

Patrick walks over to me then unties my hands first then my legs. Thinking quickly, I grab his head and connect his face with my knee then try to run into the kitchen but I hear Patrick yell, "Nick, GRAB HER!" By the time I make it to the back door, Nick grabs me then drags me into the living room and throws me onto the couch.

"If you try that again, next time we won't be so nice." Patrick says while walking into the living room, wiping his bloody nose.

"Damn she got you good." Nick laughs, sitting across from me.

"Why the hell do you two work for Gabriel? He's a horrible person so I'm sure he treats you'll terribly." I scoff, getting comfortable on the couch.

"His attitude is terrible sometimes but he treats us better than you think. He basically helped each one of us get our lives together. Without him, I'd probably still be homeless or even dead. So before you bad mouth him, think about how many of us that he's helped, including Devon. He made all of our lives better and gave us a reason to live so if serving him is the way we repay him then so be it. I went from starving every day, digging in dumpsters and never bathing to being able to eat a good meal and bathing every day. I now have my own place and even a wife." Nick explains.

"Nick's right. Mr. Hayes isn't the monster that you think he is. Most of us were down bad and didn't have any family to help us. He has basically built us all into one family and now we always have someone to look out for us. If saving the lives of many men and giving them a family doesn't make him a good person then I don't know what will. Yeah, he goes about things differently than most but that doesn't matter." Patrick says, while titling his head back.

"Damn, I didn't know any of that so I never thought about it that way. I'm glad you guys are doing better in life..Can I make a phone call?"

"No, if we let you use the phone then you'll call somebody to come get you." Nick scoffs.

"Actually I wanted to call Rosa and see if she could stop by to help me make us some dinner. She made soup earlier but I'm in the mood for something else. I want to make a feast but I'll need help cooking or it'll take me forever. " I lie, knowing I have a plan.

"Good idea! I'm hungry as hell. You can use my phone since her number is already saved in it." Patrick tells me as he hands me the phone.

Finding Rosa's number, I call it quickly and she answers.

"Hello Rosa, I need a huge favor. Gabriel isn't here but Nick and Patrick are, I was thinking you could come over and help me. I really want to make dinner but I need your help and we should probably make your special drinks that you made Gabriel and I earlier... Rosa, please come over and help. I promise I'll let Gabriel know that you shouldn't be punished. Everything will be fine." I tell her, hinting that I need help to knock these two out.

"I understand. I normally wouldn't help but I really do like you because you're a sweet girl. I'm on my way." Rosa says then hangs up.

"Well what did she say?" Nick asks.
