Today is officially the day my parents passed away six months ago and left me with their fortune and a huge mansion on a hill. My family's butler, Iruka was holding the torchlight as we made our way down to the basement to pay our respects.

"Naruto, please be careful." Iruka's voice echoed the stairway as he tried his best to lit up the dark spiral cement stairs. "Don't worry about me, worry about yourself!" I raced him down the stairs. It was really dusty and dark down here, I wonder why did my parents come down here? It was my second time being in the basement, the first time was when I found them dead. I hated being in here, the air was tensed and dull. There was always an eerie feeling about this place.

After I reached the bottom of the stairs, I slowly turned the knob of wooden door and it creaked open. Iruka, being the slowpoke and careful person he is, finally caught up to me. "Naruto, I'm serious! Please be very careful." He nervously exclaimed.

"I'll be fine!" I smiled to him and diverted my attention to what was behind the door. Before I could see it, the battery of the torch died and Iruka yelped. "Shit, shit!" Iruka cried out in the darkness as he search for a new pair of batteries in his pocket.

"Relax! You're freaking me out too!" I felt blinded by the darkness, I could only rely on my hearing. I turned behind to look at the room to look for something that could help us in this situation. I didn't know if I was hallucinating because of how scared I was but for a second I saw two bloodshot eyes glaring at me from the darkness. I quickly slammed the door shut. "What the fuck." I mumbled under my breath, my heart was racing so fast. "What's the matter, Naruto?" Iruka asked, worried and confused by my reaction. "It's nothing! Quick revive the torch!" I hurriedly demanded, trying not to freak him out.

Then I heard the successful placing of the batteries into the torch, and light surrounded us once again. I heaved a sigh of relief. "Should we go back up?" I suggested yet trying to not sound scared.

"Why the sudden? Weren't you very eager to come down here? I promise you, we'll make it quick and be out of here before you know it." My kind butler smiled in reassurance as he held my shoulder. I nodded as I bit my lips. I was embarrassed that Iruka had to comfort me, usually he was the scaredy-cat. He took the lead and opened the door.

I stayed behind him, looking around for what might have caused the red pair of light that appeared like eyes. Maybe a reflection of a gem? I refuse to believe in ghosts! Why would my parents haunt me? I've been a good kid, and now I'm even paying my respects to them in this creepy basement! Oh no, what if the ghosts isn't my parents? Shit. I need to call an exorcist or a priest here to sprinkle holy water in this room.

The more I thought about it, I was creeping myself out. My hairs on my back were all standing and a chill ran down my spine. OK, Naruto. Ghosts don't exist. It's all in your head. I took deep breaths while I looked around the stone bricked basement more calmly. "Hey, Iruka. Bring the light here." I signaled him over, as I caught a glimpse of some writing on the floor. Iruka ran to my side curiously, and shone light to the area I was pointing at.

It was a circle, that kind of circle and a star you would see in demonic rituals. I was taken aback. This wasn't here before! When the police arrived and scanned the entire basement, this wasn't here before!

"Dammit! Did someone sneak into my mansion and played a prank on us?!" I flew into a rage, the nerve of some kids.. "But there's nothing there, Naruto.." Iruka replied, scared. It might be that Iruka's vision is not too clear in the dark..?

"What do you mean? It's right there! Just call in a priest, medium or whatever they are called! I want this gone by today!" I yelled. No one messes with me, no one! Especially not in the area my parents died at. I know many people around town spread rumors saying my family made a deal with the devil for our success. So someone religious could have snuck in and mocked us.

"Yes, Naruto." Iruka did not think much about what I had seen and what he couldn't seen. He knew me long enough to know I was not the type to debate with when I'm mad. He was about to exit the room before he asked, "Are you not coming up with me?"

"No. I just need some time to be alone and think." I paced around the dark room. "Please, come with me." He walked towards me and held my arm. I withdrew my hand, "I said I'll be alright, don't worry. This basement is part of my house too." I strongly insisted. I was so mad I totally forgotten what I was afraid of.

This is my house.

And I will not allow this!
