If I Died

30 2 1

If I died,

I would twirl in the twilight

Dance in the clouds

Until my feet were sparkling

With stars

I would float like a breeze in and out

Of the arches in the church

Where they thanked me for living and

Held hands

I would follow others, share their jokes

Their laughter, their smiles

Though they wouldn't know I was there

At all

I would swirl like the sea breeze

Wherever I wanted

Tussle hair, fly with the gulls

Hide in shells and ride the waves

Like horses

I would Walk beside the lonely

Comfort them and their soul

And be there for them whenever

They needed

I would be the shirt on the back

Or the umbrella

To keep from the rain, the sun

Or snow

I would linger in the voices of quires

And dance among

The notes of a song as it is played

By buskers

I would laugh like a babbling brook

And sing like a bird

Because death is never a lost soul

Never lost

Because if I died,

I would never fade away

Not completely from this earth

Because I am in stars, in music, in umbrellas

I will never truly disappear

You just have to know where to look
