Silver Tear

16 1 1

I watched you

From down on the jetty

From behind you

You never knew I was there

But I was

You stood, your hair

Blowing in the wind

A song

On your lips

But you did not sing it

Your arms hugged each other

Your dress billowed

Around your legs

The moonlight casting

The shadows of the moon

Across your pretty face

I hid, I knew

If you found me—

But you did not know

I was there

You trembled in the cold

But you stood

Wouldn’t leave

If you found me—

Your eyes where haunted

Your story imbedded

You knew

I knew

But you where unaware

I was there

I watched you

From down on the jetty

From behind you

A silver tear

In your eye and mine
