she looked down at the extremely tight, black, clothes on her body one last time before exhaling. she stared at the house in front of her. it was incredibly full of people.
she decided to be sandy olsson from grease since a. she loved the movie, b. it was still something very popular, and c. she was able to find costumes for grease in stores very last minute.
the week prior when billy approached her, she definitely did not believe she would see herself at the halloween party. yet, he asked her again on wednesday, where she promised she would try. she hated him for convincing her with his charming ways. she hated herself for being charmed so easily.
she heard some whistles as she ascended the steps, but decided to ignore them. she already regretted wearing such tight clothes.
she searched for any familiar faces. which, there were quiet a few, but none that she spoke to.
she neared a punch bowl and poured some for herself. she sniffed it hoping to detect some sort of drugs or whatever it was people in them nowadays. she sighed when her nose wasn't powerful enough to sense anything. she took a sip and instantly felt the bitter taste of alcohol mixed in with the sweetness of the punch.
she sighed and placed the rest of her drink on a nearby counter. finally, she spotted steve. she decided she should inform him of her presence. he was happily dancing with random people.
"steve!" she called out. he immediately turned to look at her. he noticed as his eyes went from normal to widened. he didn't care to hide the fact that he was staring her from head to toe.
he approached her cautiously. "samantha?"
she could hear the intake of his breath as soon as he was near enough. she wrapped her arms around her stomach. she felt incredibly shy.
he continued to stare at her. "you look incredible," he breathed out. "but who are you supposed to be?"
sam bit her lip nervously. "sandy olsson."
"i'm sorry, who?" he seemed in deep thought. he wanted to recall anyone by that name, but nothing.
"sandy? from grease?" upon steve's confused facial expression she gasped. "you've never watched grease?"
he shook his head. "nope."
"you are very uncultured. we must watch it some day," she crossed her arms.
he smiled and nodded his head. "i thought you didn't want to come! were you trying to surprise me?" he grinned.
she was about to reply "no", but the room was filled with commotion.
"chug chug chug!" people chanted. then, much louder cheers. she turned to see billy stand up from the keg and wipe his chin. he cheered loudly earning claps and pats on the back from people she did not know.
he didn't waste any time approaching her. "looking real good, princess." he look at all of her, smiled, and licked his bottom lip.
