As soon as Cameron fell asleep to take a nap back home, my mind immediately takes me back to what happened with the whole Toby situation. It was all obscure when I was talking to him, it felt as if I wasn't even there and my mouth just took over yet my mind took in all the information I was hearing. Puzzling, right?

I didn't have anything against Toby, it just felt pretty peculiar to have him just ask me like that, right then and there, on the spot. Hanging out with him wouldn't be too bad, I just shouldn't overthink like I always do and mess up everything.

Just as countless thoughts wandered through my head, my phone rang and an unknown number showed up; Toby. That name was the first that came to mind. I quickly reached for my phone and slid the bar to answer it.

"Hello?" I spoke through the phone. I was expecting Toby's voice to greet back, instead, it was a robotic woman's voice who was talking about some vacuum cleaner. I hung up and sighed, and all of a sudden I just found myself hoping that the next caller would be Toby.

I stared at my phone as I laid on my bed sideways, I was hesitating to call Kara. I felt as if she felt really awkward at the store today and just pushed herself to say yes to hanging out with me this Friday. She could've said no if she wanted to. Ugh, why am I overthinking again? Why can't I just let things happen when they will?

I stared at my phone once again and sighed, my thumb roamed around the screen, and finally, I unlocked my phone. I went to my contacts and scrolled down to the 'K' section of names. I put my finger down on Kara's contact and I stared at the number and the call symbol, just waiting for me to press it. And I finally do.

I received first ring, then came the second, the third, the fourth, and it seemed endless but, she answered.

I heard her calm voice come through the phone, "Hello?"

I took a deep breath in, which I'm sure she heard, "Kara, it's Toby."

"Oh, uh hey Toby" I smiled to myself as I heard her say my name.

"So about Friday, do you want to just go a for a walk in the park or something?" A walk in the park, Toby?! Get yourself together, that's lame.

"A walk in the park would sound lovely" Well, it was lame until she said it was lovely..

"Great, I'll come by at around 4 maybe?"

"Yeah, that sounds great. See you then!"

"See you!" I hang up and the ends of my lips tug upwards, Friday. Friday. Friday. Her house was next to mine so I could see her anytime I wanted but Friday is going to be different.

"Toby, have yo-" Connor bursted through the door but stopped when he saw me, "Why are you so smiley?" He asked with a joking smirk.

"I, um, nothing.."

"Oh it's something, I know you Toby" He sat on the office chair that was placed next to my desk.

"You don't know me, Connor" I scoffed and he chuckled.

"Yes I do, and plus you've been so bored and lifeless this past week and then now you're all happy and smiling, what's up?" He bothered.

I sighed, it wouldn't hurt if I told Connor, it's not like he's going to tell the whole world or anything, "I asked Kara-"

He cut me off and stood up immediately, "On a date?!" He shouted.

"No Connor, let me finish. I asked her if she wanted to hang out"

"That's just another term for a date, little bro. And what did she say?"

"It is not a date.. And she said yes"

"MY LITTLE BROTHER IS TURNING INTO A MAN.. again" Connor shouted.

"Shut up Connor" I groaned and threw a pillow at him. Connor laughed and gave me a thumbs up on his way out of my room.
