Nancy got out a bottle of wine and two glasses. She still couldn't believe that Frank was going to be in her apartment. There was a slight knock at the door before the muffled voice of Frank Hardy could be heard through the door.

"Nancy? I'm here!" Frank called lightly. Nancy threw open the door to see the handsome figure of Frank. He dropped his bags and Nancy ran into his open arms. He picked her up and spun Nancy around. "I missed you so much," he whispered softly in her ear. Frank gently placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"I missed you more! Now put your bag into the spare room, and have a shower! You stink!" She yells at him as he walks away.

"I love you too Nance!" Frank yelled back.

Nancy exhales and flopped onto the couch. Her heart was racing from seeing Frank.

"Hey Nan, where's Ned? I would've thought he would've been home on movie night?" Nancy's face faltered at the mention of Ned. Frank sensing something was up walked over to her. She twisted a little to face him.

"I, uh, kicked him out a few minutes before you came in. That's why we are having wine on this fine Wednesday night," she shrugged. Frank knew once he had had a shower and changed she would tell him everything.

Ten minutes later, a clean shaven Frank came stumbling out of the hallway, still trying to put his shirt on. Nancy quickly spun around to find out the source of the noise. It had been a couple of months since she last saw Frank and he was even fitter than he was before. Lean muscle carved out his body. Somehow she found Frank even more attractive. The sun had caramelised his body, maybe that case in California did him really well. Nancy didn't know whether to keep staring or look away so she opted to the first option and kept staring.

"Sorry about that," he quickly apologised, grabbed a glass of wine he assumed was his and sat down with Nancy. "Now tell me, Miss Nancy Drew, why did you kick Ned Nickerson out?"

"Well," pulling out the ring from under her shirt. "It was because of this particular case I couldn't let go of like the rest of them," she took a breathe and looked deep into Frank's gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. "I have never been happier than when I was on that case. With you, Frank Hardy." There was a pause between them. They both had leaned a little closer.

"I feel the same way," Frank pulled out a long, thin necklace from around his neck. "I haven't stopped thinking about this case, or you for that matter." He whispered so quietly that she didn't think she had heard him right. Nancy picked his hands up and led him to her library. In the corner he could see books thrown around, circling a giant teddy. The same teddy he had given to her for Nancy. "You kept it?" Frank whispered.

"It reminds me everyday that maybe my life is more than what's beyond these walls. Beyond Ned," grasping Franks hands again, looking deeply into each other's eyes; not blinking or thinking of anything else besides each other. Nancy slid her hands up his chest and wound them around his neck. She attached her lips to his with all strength she could muster that left them breathless. Next thing Nancy knew, Frank kissed her back with just as much passion as before and lifted her around his waist, leading her to Nancy's bedroom, not leaving all night
