She breathed him in. His scent, his cologne. His skin. She touched him. He felt warm to the touch. Felt smooth. Felt his every muscle. Nancy cuddled inhumanly closer to him. Frank's grip tightened around her, kissing the top of her head.
"Good morning Gorgeous," Frank softly spoke to her. Nancy looked up at his smiling face.
"Good morning Handsome," she kissed up his chest, up his neck and finally onto his lips. They both sat up, Nancy wrapping her arms around Frank's neck. She finally parted ways with his lips, unwillingly she might add. "I forgot to feed you last night. I should probably be a good host and make you some breakfast." Nancy smiled up at him. She looked at his lips; biting her own.
"Well, we were pretty preoccupied last night," Frank noticed where Nancy's eyes were darted and leaned in again. Before his lips reached hers, Frank's stomach grumbled. "Actually I might take you up on that breakfast offer," with last peck on the lips Nancy slowly got up. Frank grabbed her arm one more time and pulled her in for one more glorious kiss.
"At this rate we may never get out of bed," Nancy sat atop of Frank and kissed him with more passion she could muster.
Nancy, wearing one of Frank's shirts and a pair of wooly socks, had the radio turned up loud, as she started making waffles. ABBA was blasting all through the apartment, a necessity when Nancy was in a great mood.
"VOULEZ-VOUZ!" Nancy sung as she took out another waffle. 3 waffles down, 2 to go. She spun around singing into a wooden spoon she had picked up from a draw. Nancy's words traveled into the bedroom that Frank was slowly getting out of. He could see through the slither of the door that Nancy was making a mess. Waffle mixture was everywhere; Nancy couldn't care less. She was in too good of a mood to care. As soon as one song ended, the next started. Frank knew this one off by heart. The amount of times Nancy had made him play this song in the car anywhere was astonishing. Before Nancy could say the first line she heard Frank singing from the hallway.
"I wasn't jealous before we met,
Now every man I see is a potential threat.
And I'm possessive it isn't nice
You've heard me saying that smoking was my only vice,"Nancy took a waffle out and turned to Frank.
"Now Mr Hardy you don't smoke," Nancy giggled and danced her way into Frank's arms. They continued singing and dancing to the song until the final beat. "Now sit down Hardy and eat your breakfast before it gets cold!" Nancy scolded half jokingly. Frank licked his lips at the waffles and hungrily ate them all with a giant mug of coffee.
After breakfast the couple sat on the couch eagerly. "I start work in a couple of hours, what did you want to do until then?" Nancy lazily turned to Frank, her legs laying across his lap.
"How about we sit here with each other for the rest of the day?" Frank smiled. "I called your chief two weeks ago asking if you could have the next couple of weeks off." Nancy was taken a back. Her face scrunched up with confusion.
"And he agreed? Captain Hogan actually agreed to this?" Nancy couldn't believe what her two ears were hearing.
"Captain Hogan, how will your top detective function if she doesn't have any time off? You couldn't possibly say no to one of the 'Hardy Boys' would you?" Frank mockingly threw his hands in the air; Nancy giggled in response. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his head as he grabbed the remote, flicking the channel to 'David Attenborough: Our Planet'. "I've always loved David Attenborough. Fascinating voice and the footage to go with it," Nancy kissed his head again. The gesture saying 'so do I'.
The distinctive sound of Nancy's phone was ringing in the background. Nancy huffed and looked at the caller ID. Bess Marvin it read. Was I supposed to pick up Morgan? Nancy thought as she answered the phone.
"Hey Bess! What's up?" She asked cheerily to her best friend.
"Hey, umm, Nancy, is Frank with you?" Bess sounded nervous, scared even.
"Yeah he's right here Bess. What's wrong? Why have you been crying?" Bess hiccuped. Nancy sat up straight and put her phone on speaker.
"I came into the hospital this morning and, ah, Frank I don't know how to tell you this but Joe's in surgery," Frank's face hardened.
"What happened?" Nancy demanded.
"Apparently it was a drop and run. He had blood all of his face and some gun shot wounds. He went into surgery right away. Fenton and Laura have been notified and they're on the next flight from Bayport. Frank we tried to notify you earlier but you wouldn't pick up." Bess tried to reason but Frank was already on his way to get changed.
"We're on our way Bess. We'll be there in 20 minutes," Nancy followed Frank and put on some jeans and shoes. They both raced to the door to find Ned and Sarah standing there confused at the sudden rush.
"What's going on?" Ned quickly asked.
"Joe's at the hospital, he's been shot." Frank and Nancy couldn't see but Ned had a wide grin plastered across his face.
