~ Five years later ~
Akaashi's POV
It was cold, but it wasn't as cold as I remember. It's been five years since I've been back in town, five years since I left that rainy night.
I turn the corner, still remembering these streets, but now with unfamiliar stores. I turn right, looking for a certain store, a certain coffee shop at the end of the street. I pass by some places I remember, some places I don't. It's weird. It's weird knowing a place like the back of your hand yet being unfamiliar with it. I finally find it and I stop in front of a glass panel.
"Is this seat taken?" I look up from my notes towards the unfamiliar voice.
"Oh, uh, nope," I reply to a silver-haired guy. He takes a seat in front of me and I get back to doing my paper.
"I feel like I've seen you before," The silver-haired guy asks. I look up at him to find his glowing gold eyes staring at me. I freeze for a moment, mesmerised by those eyes, unable to reply.
"Uh, uhm, I-I I don't think so..." I reply quietly. I take a sip of my tea, breaking the eye contact. "I just moved here a couple months ago... I don't really know anyone here..." I say almost in a whisper; I'm not a fan of socialising.
"I see..." the silver-haired guy says, nodding his head and slowly looking away. I continue sipping my tea, peeking up at the guy. "Do you maybe go to G University?" He cocks his head in a really adorable way. With his hair and eyes, he almost looks like an owl. I smile a little at the thought.
"Yeah.. I do," I reply and he makes a wide mouth face.
"THAT'S WHERE I'VE SEEN YOU FROM!" He exclaims loudly, almost getting up from his chair. He is just full of energy.
"Shhhh! Too loud," I say in a whisper, giggling. He sits back down and apologises to the people staring at him.
"You're cute..." I say under my breath. He suddenly looks up to me, as if he heard what I said. My heart stops at the thought and I turn red with embarrassment.
"I'm also Bokuto Koutarou," he says with a suave smile.
"I'm Akaashi Keiji," I say with a soft smile.
I look into the glass panel, seeing the coffee shop worn out and abandoned. I feel my heart ache as I look at my reflection on the darkened glass.
"Akaashi...?" I hear a familiar voice behind me. A see a figure behind me on the glass panel and my whole body freezes up. "What are you doing here?" he says softly.
"Papa?" I hear a tiny voice from behind me as well. I turn around to see Bokuto and a little girl holding his hand beside him. This was a mistake.
"Just passing by," I reply, looking away. "I should go now..." I mutter, quickly walking past him.
"Wait!" he says loudly, grabbing my arm. I refuse to look at him, but my body doesn't resist. "Ah..." he lets go, realizing the situation right now.
"It was great to see you again Bokuto," I look up and force a smile, but one look at his golden eyes makes me tense up. I suddenly feel a drop on my cheek, then another, then I look up I realise they were raindrops falling from the dull, grey sky. I suddenly feel myself getting dragged somewhere, getting dragged by Bokuto as the raindrops increase.
We end up under the shade of a familiar blue and white building. I turn to Bokuto who was shaking the rain out of his hair, carrying the little girl on his right arm. I scan the area around me, hoping to find a convenience store to buy an umbrella, but unfortunately I only saw small buildings, houses, and stores closing due to the rain.
