"I love you, you know that right?"
"What kind of question is that?" I laugh, jumping to the curb, balancing with my arms out. I look back at him and he smiles, jogging towards me. I giggle as I continue to stumble on the dim lit sidewalk. He walks past me and I take this chance to jump on his back. He gets startled, but as always, he manages to catch me.
"I love you too," I whisper in his ear, burying my face into the nook of his neck. Though it was dark, I could still make out the tips of his ears reddening.
"It's getting dark love, we should head home," he says quietly.
"But I can still see the sun," I whine, not yet wanting to let go.
"But the crickets are starting to sing," he teases back.
"The crickets always sing."
"And the stars are starting to come out."
"The sun is a star." He suddenly stops and bursts out laughing.
"What?" I start giggling as well. He sets me down and turns to face me.
"You are adorable," he utters, bringing his hands to my cheeks. "I don't think I can ever thank God enough for bringing you into my life." I close my eyes and wrap my arms around him, feeling warm; genuine, pure warmth. I feel his lips rest on my head as I breathe in his scent. I don't want to let go.
"Can we just stay like this forever?" I mumble into his chest. He pulls back and looks me in the eyes.
"If we stay like this forever, how are we going to live out the future we dream of?"

I was writing this while taking a sunset walk in a quite subdivision with my friends (though I didn't have any one being sweet to me like this ;-;)
