Conversation Over Coffee

READER POV:

You sat on the edge of your bed for awhile with your head in your hands trying to figure out what just happened. You wrinkled your nose and grunted at the 'brief' embarrassing moment that just passed replaying in your head. You pushed down on your knees and stood grabbing a pair of your favorite comfy pants and sliding on your panda slippers. 'Bloody-fucking brilliant, y/n,' you muttered to yourself, 'had to have a pervy dream AND be loud about it.' You closed your bedroom door and began descending down the stairs and continuing to scold yourself. 'Stupid. Stupid. Stupid,' you repeated like a mantra as you came down to the landing.

You were too concentrated on beating yourself up to notice you held the gaze of three males following you as you passed them and tried to make your way to the kitchen. As you neared the kitchen you felt a pillow smack you in the back. You quickly spun and threw it back nailing Zoro in the face. From Ace's laughter you could tell he was the one who threw it and Zoro just suffered the consequences. "It's not fucking funny!!" the greenette bellowed as he turned to chase the now fleeing Ace across the living room. "Children." you and Law said in unison. He quirked a brow and smirked at you. You could feel your cheeks flush as you shifted your gaze to the ground when he rose from the sofa. You could hear him approaching and decided to turn and continue your walk into the kitchen for your much needed coffee. You poured two mugs and gave one to Law who was leaning agaisnt the counter across from you. You leaned against the other counter and sipped on yours. "So?" You asked. "I'm just assuming this thing is over now since 'he who shall not be named' is dead. Were the others taken care of as well?"

"Yes and no." he sighed. "This just means we are done with the closest enemy for the moment. Now we just wait for word to travel and see if an enemy or ally appears." He took a sip from his coffee. "And yes, the others were taken care of." he said slyly.

You had to admit, you felt a weight lift off of your shoulders, but there was still something lowly nagging at the back of your mind that was amiss. "You on the other hand," he began, "need to rest for a couple more days and no vigorous activity either." he said with narrowed eyes and smirk on his face.

"Oh ha ha," you sneered "Shut it." you said giving him a tap on the arm.

"Either way, I gotta get going. " he said swaying into the tap you gave him. "Long shift is starting in a few hours at the hospital. Think you'll be okay with those two?" He said thumbing towards the thumping and cursing sounds coming from the living room.

"I should be able to manage." you laughed until you heard something break.

"I'll let you deal with that," he said giving you a hug and finishing the rest of his coffee. "Love ya."

"Back at ya." you smiled at him until the door closed. You then turned and faced the raven and the moss head who had now frozen under your stare. "You better fucking run."

"But Law said no vigorous activity, so you can't chase us." Ace teased, sticking out his tongue.

"Law isn't here now." you said snatching his tongue. "You've got until the count of three."

"Y/n," Zoro started, "Law is...."

"ONE!" you yelled

"He was right, you were badly hurt" Zoro rushed

"TWO!!" you yelled

Ace was gone. Zoro still tried to plea but seeing as you weren't budging and you were about to say 'three' he decided to bolt as well. You walked towards the back door and watched both men disappear into the woods. You quietly chuckled to yourself and finished your coffee before slipping on your sneakers and closing the door. You started stretching , giving the boys a fair enough lead, and were trying to decide which one you wanted to pursue. Zoro would be too easy to find and you wanted more of a chase, more of a thrill (not that he wasn't one in other ways, y'know?). You made your decision and started a light jog in the direction Ace had headed off to.

Besides, there were other things you were curious about too.....but those things we'll just have to wait for. You couldn't hide your smile now as you dove into the forest.

Sorry it's been so long since I updated. I told you updates would be random, but fuck. sorry I made ya'll wait since January. I have no excuses for why, other than I kinda lost sight as to what I was going to do next. But hey, here we are! Hope you enjoyed it.
