READER POV:

So a few months have passed since you and Kid's rekindling, and you had to admit, things were going good. Naturally, you're waiting for the other shoe to drop and wondering when everything is going to go south. You had moved in with him and sold your house which left you with a lot of extra monies, so you and Kid had been traveling to a lot of places. Your most recent trip was coming back from a cruise. You always wanted to try one and were very shocked at how much Kid actually liked being out on a ship. Weirdo. But you loved him anyways. Yup, you loved him.

Oh the L-word....with as long as you two had been back together, that was something neither one of you had said to the other. You hadn't said anything but you guessed it didn't need to be verbalized because it was being expressed in so many other ways.

Bullshit...you wanted to hear it. You wanted to hear those words come from his mouth. You wanted to say it every time he left, every time before you fell asleep in his arms....you were getting mushy but you didn't care.

You had been strolling around town picking up different groceries for the week and planned on making Kid his favorites for dinner tonight. You were gonna make things special and had decided to finally tell him you loved him. Why not, right? You had decided to enlist the help of Killer with the cabbage rolls, since you hadn't made them before, so you figured it could be a teaching experience as well.

You walked into the local farmers market to get fresh ingredients and had been browsing for only a few moments when you saw her. Fuck...anyone but her. Bonney......Kid's ex before you...and then after you. She'd left town a couple years back after their break up. From what you had heard, it was quite the spectacle and the humiliation of it all forced her to leave. So why was she back? And why now, of all fucking times. You gathered your items and avoided her at all costs, you didn't want to focus on this right now. You had big plans for tonight. That's when you heard a familiar laugh....

No. "Beautiful." You heard him say.

You felt a knot building in your throat. You turned another corner and that's when you got confirmation. Kid was there, with....her.......and they were laughing and carrying on like they were....together. Why were they here together? Why was he calling her 'beautiful'? Why were they standing so close to each other? 'Is he.....cheating?'

You couldn't believe it. You felt your bags drop from your hands causing the redhead and pinkette to turn towards the sound. The minute his eyes made contact with yours, he froze, eyes widening at the realization of what you had just seen. He tried to call out to you but you couldn't hear him. You were already turning around and running away. You were gonna be sick. 'What the actual fuck have I done?' you thought to yourself as you ran. You could feel the tears streaking your face as your ran. You heard heavy boot steps coming up from behind. You turned and saw that Kid was in full pursuit of you. "NO!" you barked back at him and felt yourself begin to morph into your wolf form. You'd be able to move faster and get away from him but where would you go? It didn't matter now. You just had to get away.

You darted into a nearby wooded area and began bounding off of everything but the boot steps were soon replaced with heavy paws tracking your every move throughout the forest. His foot falls were lining right into yours. You morphed back halfway and began jumping into the trees and traveling from branch to branch. Old trees could carry your weight but not his. Being small had its advantages. You could hear him shouting at you to stop and 'get your ass down here', but you didn't want to talk. You looked ahead and saw a clearing fast approaching. As you got to the edge you pushed hard on the branch to try and jump the clearing to the trees along the opposite side. You thought you had it until you felt the wind get knocked out you and you were falling.

The clearing had given Kid the opportunity to gain speed and he tackled you mid air dragging you down to earth again. "Would you fucking quit?!" Kid panted at you, holding you down.

"Get the fuck off of me!" you screamed while trying to wriggle your way out from under him "I saw you with her!! Why?!" you cried at him. "What did I do? I loved you!"

*silence*

There was a genuine look of shock on Kids face as you berated him with questions and accusations. The words came out of your mouth so quickly he didn't know how to respond. You got still and looked away from him realizing what you had just said. "Let me go. I don't want to hurt you." the coldness in your tone took him back and he got up and stepped back from you.

"Y/n..." he started, "I love you too." 

"Don't mock me" you hissed with narrowed eyes. You began walking around him.

"Fucking explain yourself. I'm owed that much" you growled.

"I'm not mocking you, y/n. And explain what? Bonney?" he questioned

"No, gravity. Of course, you fuckwit! Why were you with her? Why did you call her 'beautiful? I heard you!"

"It's complicated.." he began

"Complicated?!" you cut him off, " How the fuck is it 'complicated'?"

"YES!" he yelled at you clearly getting frustrated. He pulled at his red locks trying to explain without losing his cool like always. This had been something he had been working on for you, but you knew exactly which buttons to push to get him riled up quickly and he had to get through this calmly in order to keep you calm. "Yes, it complicated because she came back to town because I asked her too."

You went cold. "What?" you whispered, tilting your head to the side. You started walking closer to him and you could hear your heart racing in your ears. The small breaks and cracks were almost inaudible as you slowly felt yourself morphing into a larger form. 

"I asked her to come because she's a jeweler." he continued, stopping you in your tracks. "Fuck, this isn't how I wanted things to go..." he trailed off.

"Isn't how you wanted what to go?" you questioned, stepping  in front of him and placed a hand on his chest. "This isn't how you wanted what to go?" you repeated. He looked at you while pulling a small box from his pocket.

'Nuh uh...' you thought..'is he?'

He grabbed your other hand and set the box inside it using his hands to cover the small box and your hand. "Y/n?" he asked. You could hear a slight waiver in his tone, "will you?" he finished as he opened the box to reveal a beautiful black diamond ring.

You could feel tears welling up....You looked up at him, "really?" you managed to squeak out.

He smirked at you saying, "I wouldn't do this for anyone else."

You swallowed hard and began nodding furiously. "Yes!  Yes! Yes! Fuck yes!" you joyously squealed.

The day may not have turned into what you had expected...but it ended up being supremely better.
