Chapter Ten: Will you go to homecoming with me?

Marinette's POV

This has been an unexpected month... so much has happened. Today marks exactly one week away from prom. Nino obviously asked Alya to prom. But who asked me? No one yet.

Oh well. I have to get to university!!

Later on the day....

Alya runs to Marinette ,

Marinette - "Sorry I was late I was talking to Adrien and he-."

Alya - "Girl where were you-."

Marinette - " Ayla.. what's wrong?"

Alya - (whispers ) "turn around.. Mari."

Marinette's POV

I turned around to see Luka standing with his guitar.. and people holding signs around him.

Marinette - "Luka what's happening..?"

They turned the cards around and it read "Mari will you go to homecoming with me?"

Luka - " Mari I love you so much and I wouldn't want to go with anyone else so will you go to homecoming with me?"

Marinette - "Luka I -i."

"She's going with me." Adrien said as he came in and put his arm around Marinette's shoulder."

Luka - "Oh um. I-i."

Marinette - " I'm sorry luk your a little late."

Luka - " It's alright Mari. As for you Agreste.. if you dare touch a hair on her head or make her cry I will personal-."

Adrien - " I know. Don't worry man."

Luka - "You won Agreste. You won like you always do."

And just like that Luka disappeared.

A week passed and still no sign of Luka. But it was prom today. Everything was going well...well until the announcements came..

"Your homecoming king is... Adrien Agreste. And your queen is... Kagami."

Everyone went silent at her name. Everyone looked around waiting for her to appear.

"What! I would be happy if it was Chloe..But her!?"

Chloe - "Heyyy Mari!"

Marinette - "Sorry."

( Adrien and Kagami have dated for a year a while back.)

Kagami - "Hey Adrien!"

Adrien - "Kagami."

Kagami - "So did you miss me?"

Adrien - "Kagami the last time I saw you was right after we broke up."

Kagami - "So.. you do?"

Adrien - " No I don't not anymore."

Kagami - "how about we pick u-."

Adrien - "Not so fast.I'm fighting for Marinette. And I won't stop for you!"

Kagami - "Oh Adrien you won't be fighting for too long."

Kagami quickly kisses Adrien and pulls back.

Kagami - " See you Adrien."

Adrien - " I-I. What?"

Adrien turns around to see Marinette gone. No where to be seen.

He looked everywhere. He gave up. He was in the garden when he heard a low muffling sound coming from the shack.

Adrien - " M-Mar!"

Marinette - (whispers) "Go away Adrien."

Adrien opens the door to see Marinette crying. He sat down next to her. Putting his arm around her but she pushes him away.

Adrien - " Mar. I -I'm so sorry I didn't kiss her. I love yo-."

Marinette - "Adrien, listen maybe we are not really meant for each other."

Adrien - "What are you talking about. Mar I love you and only you."

Marinette - " Maybe Kagami was right. Maybe you aren't suppose to fight for me any longer."

Adrien - "B-but."

Marinette - "Maybe you really do belong with her after all."

He takes her hand in his..

Adrien - "I love you not her. I belong with you not he-."

Marinette - "Sorry Adrien. I have to go. Have fun."

As she stood up to leave. He holds her hand.

Adrien - "please. Please don't let go off me. Please I love you. I can't lose you."

Marinette - "I-i. You won't lose me. I -I love you too. But some stories aren't meant to have a happy ending."

Adrien - "I won't give up."

Marinette - "I don't want you too." She gives off a faint smile.

Adrien - "See you soon?"

Marinette - "hopefully."

She then disappears in the distance...

Is their story over? Or is the impossible, still possible, because they themselves are losing hope..
