After school Jamie made her way to the library, her backpack weighed down by all the books she needed to take home tonight for all her homework.

Liam was sitting at a table against the back wall, leaning back in his chair as music blared through his earbuds.

Jamie slowly walked over to him and tapped on his shoulder, “Hey,” She said softly.

He popped an earbud out and glanced up at her out of the corner of his eye, "Hey... Ready?”

Jamie nodded and sat down in a chair across the table from him, she pulled out her history book and her eyebrows immediately furrowed in distaste.

Liam chuckled lightly as he watched her expression, "So, which parts are you having trouble with?”

“All of them,” Jamie groaned, “Right now specifically the topic is the Civil War.”

"It's really not as hard as it seems,”

“Says the person who has scored the most points in Social Studies since the sixth grade,” She rolled her eyes playfully.

Liam smiled lightly, "you'll be an expert on it by the time I'm done helping you.”

“I don’t need to be an expert,” She teased, “I just need to pass.”

Liam moved to the seat next to her, "then let's start studying.”

Jamie looked up at him as her cheeks turned bright red, “O-Okay.”

For most of the night Liam and Jamie were in the Library, studying non-stop. Every so often, he would glance up at her to make sure she understood.

Around midnight Jamie started to find it getting harder to keep he eyes open and she leaned against Liam’s shoulder without thinking, “Can we stop?” She asked in almost a whisper.

Liam reached over, gently pushing the hair out of her face, "sure.”

Jamie sat up and pushed her glasses farther up her nose as she sleepily began to put all her books back in her bag.

Liam helped her finish up and took her arm gently to help her stand.

“Thanks,” Jamie smiled softly as her stomach let out a growl and her eyes widened in surprise, “What time is it?”

"Uhm..." He quickly checked his phone, "it's twelve..”

“What?” Jamie nearly shouted before groaning and holding her stomach, “I missed dinner…” ‘Not that there’s anyone home right now’ She added on in her head.

"I can take you by a fast food place before I drop you off if you want..”

Jamie shook her head as she put her bag on her shoulder, “No, it’s fine. There’s food at home.”

Liam leaned against the table crossing his arms, “come on. My treat.”

Jamie smiled at him as she shook her head again, “No Liam, I’m fine. You’re giving me enough of a treat by helping me pass Social Studies.”

He sighed lightly, "all right. I'll see you tomorrow then.”

“Woah woah woah,” She said in protest as she grabbed his arm, “I never said you couldn’t drive me home.” She teased.

Liam gave her a rare smile, "ah, right. Well, let's get going.”

Jamie let go of his arm before racing out of the library with a giggle.

Liam rushed out after her, chuckling lightly. He wasn't used to seeing her this.... Excitable.

Jamie hid behind a tree and jumped out as he came by, yelling “BOO!” As she jumped on his back.
