Harrys POV

'It's not a fashion show Jennifer, its dinner with my 94 year old grandpa', I said through the bathroom door.

She opened the door, looking stressed.

'Whats wrong'? I asked, looking her over.

She had on a short, flowy black lace dress and a white sweater, with her long curly hair up in a ponytail with a braid along the side.

'Nothing. I'm fine', she said thickly.

'Hey', I said, grabing her hand and turning her around, 'You look absolutely beautiful Jennifer. You're perfect'.

She just hugged me.

'Do you think he'll like me Harry'?

'He's gonna love you. Anyone would... once they get to know you and break past your tough girl shell and see how sweet and gentle you are'.

She smiled.

Its true, she comes off as independant and kinda bitchy. But I knew, thats not her, I just had to get to know her.

Shes sweet, gentle and silly. A perfect woman.

We got to my grandpas house, right on the lake.

She gasped as we pulled up.

'Whats wrong'?

'Absolutely NOTHING! It's BEAUTIFUL here!'.

'Just like you', I said, taking her hand.

Its a big wooden cabin by the woods and the lake has a rock/sand beach with a long peir with a little boathouse and one bedroom cabin at the end.

There's bluffs in the distance and you can see sailboats and people sking out on the water.

I opened her door and she got out slowly..

'Oh my god Harry. I've never even seen anything like this. They don't have stuff like this in New York City or LA. I've only seen things like this in movies'.

She looked genuinely curious and amazed.

We went inside and her mouth dropped again when she saw the inside of the house. Me and grandpa built it when I was 16. Pure log and very rustic.

'Beautiful...', she whispered.

'Hey there you are'!, grandpa yelled, coming down from the loft.

'Hey! Grandpa, meet Jennifer, Jennifer, meet Grandpa'.

'Nice to meet you Mr. Connick', she said holding out her hand.

He grabbed it and yanked her into a bear hug.

'Oh...Ok', she laughed.

He let go, holding her by her shoulders.

'Look at you! Gosh darnit, you are the most beautiful thing i've ever laid eyes on!', he said dramatically.

She went to say something and he cut right back in 'You like pulled pork sandwitches'?

'Yes'!, She said and laughed.

'Great'!, he replied and walked away to the kitchen.

We looked at each other and she put her head on my shoulder, laughing so hard.

'You'll get used to him... Told you he'd love you'.

'Oh gosh Harry... I love him'!

I put my arm around her and walked to the kicthen.

He handed her a wine cooler.

'I don't... oh what the hell.. Thank you', she said and took a drink.

I smirked... 'Just this one. I want to be fully aware', she teased, making my face red.

'You guys a couple'? Grandpa asked.

Me and Jen looked at eachother.

'Well... we're more than friends but not quite a couple. We'll see how the next few days play out', She said and rubbed the back of my hand, smiling.

I rested my head against hers.

She makes me feel so calm and like I can be my real self. No lies, no hiding.

 Two hours later....

Grandpa went to run some errand and told me and Jen to make ourselves at home.

We were sitting on the couch and she was all fidgety, bouncing her knee up and down.

'Whats up with you pretty lady'?, I asked.

'Lets go outside and explore', She said, smiling like a little girl.

'Okay', I laughed.

We walked outside and she sighed happily.

'I love it here so much more than the city', She said as we walked twords the lakeshore.

'Really? I thought you'd dislike it since you've lived in the city all your life'.

'I thought I would too but... I guess I was wrong'.

She kicked off her shoes and waded into the water up to her ankles.

I did the same and we walked along the shoreline, holding our shoes and just laughing, and having a great time.

'You're staring again', she giggled.

'I can't help it. Grandpas right. You are the most beautiful thing i've laid eyes on too'.

We got up to the edge of the peir.

'That is so cool' she said.

'You've never seen a peir in a lake'? I laughed.

'No! Only the big tall ocean ones'.

'Up ya go'!, I said grabbing her waist and setting her on it.

I jumped up next to her and we walked to the end and sat down.

'I'm gonna go grab some watermelon. Be right back. You okay here'? I asked.

'Never been better...', She said, smiling.

Jens POV

I love it here. Its so calming and beautiful.

I heard footsteps behind me.

'Hey' An unfamiliar voice said.

'Oh... Who are you'?

'A friend of Harrys. Names Jake. He's right, you are gorgeous', He said, making me kind of uncomfortable.

'Well.. Tell him Jake said hi', He smirked and walked away.

What the hell was that?
