Jens POV
'Jen whats going on today'? Harry asked as he got dressed.
'I have a doctor appointment. I have to leave in an hour', I replied as I pulled my hair into a ponytail.
'You want me to come'? he asked.
'No.. no, you can stay here with Mia. I'll be just fine', I replied and wrapped my arms around him.
'I'm tired', I said as I yawned.
'Thats what happens when you go to bed at 2am and get up at 6 my love', He said.
I kissed him and Mia goodbye and drove into town.
I stopped for coffee because I was early and went shopping.
I bought a cute swimsuit for Mia and got Harry a bag of pretzel m&m's.
I drove to the hospital and parked.
Big hospital for a small city.
I walked in and found where I needed to be.
I was dozing off when my name was called.
They took a urine sample and blood test before I saw the doctor.
She walked in and shook my hand.
'Doctor Mcnally, looks like i'm your new doctor, nice to meet you', she said.
She seemed sweet, calming, I was at ease in an instant.
I smiled back.
'Nice to meet you too', I said.
'So whats with this back of yours'? she said and had me sit on the exam bed.
'I was attacked over a year ago and this has been getting worse ever since. It's hell', I said.
'Shirt off', she said.
I took it off and she carefully ran her fingers around it.
'Relax, I'm gonna have to touch it'.
I held my breath as she ran her fingers over the sore spot.
'Breathe Jennifer, you're doing just fine, i'm almost done', she said.
'Damn that hurts', I hissed through clenched teeth.
'Done! What you have is two ruptured discs right next to eachother, only option is surgery i'm afraid'.
'And i'm afraid of surgery and its dangerous to me because of my heart', I replied.
'Oh jeez. Let me go look at the results of your tests to rule out any other problems, then we'll talk. Sound okay'?
'Okay', I replied.
She left and Harry called.
'Whats up with that back'? he asked.
'Ruptured discs. How's Mimi'?
'Shes good, we are eating peas at the moment', he said.
'Fun. I should go, I love you'.
'We love you too mama', He said and hung up.
Doctor Mcnally walked back in with a smile on her face.
'Congrats', she said.
'Why are you congratulating me'? I asked, confused.
'Because your pregnant! Like 3 weeks, super early on', she said.
'Holy shit! No!', I replied, my heart started racing and I tried to calm down, just putting my head in my hands, breathing deep.
'You alright'?
'No. I will be, but not for a few days maybe'.
'Bad news is we can't do surgery when you're pregnant. We can do phisicall therapy and you have to be icing it at home, lets go do an ultrasound'.
I didn't respond, just stood up.
'I feel weak, can I hold your arm?', I asked, totally stressed out.
'Of course you can', she said and smiled.
A while later I was in the ultrasound room.
'Check it out, you're pregnant for sure'.
'Lovely', I said, un-enthusiastically.
'Do you want to keep the baby'? she asked.
'Of course I do. I'm in shock and this wasn't planned and wasn't supposed to happen but it happened and I have to deal with it. I'll come around in time'.
I sat in the room alone, for 25 minutes before walking to the car.
I got home an hour later and saw Harry and Mia playing on the beach, in the sand just close enugh where the water touched them a little when the waves came in.
I walked over and sat down by them and laid down, resting my head on Harry's lap.
He leaned down and kissed me.
'Here baby', I said and dug out his candy.
'You rock', he said and threw in a handful.
I put Mia in her new swimsuit.
It was white and ble checkered with a tutu, cutest thing ever.
She was flinging sand everywhere.
'Harry...', I said, planning to tell him about my pregnancy.
'Yeah'? he replied softly, tucking my hair behind my ear as I laid on his lap.
'I...I love you papi', Is what came out instead.
'Love you too Jenny', he replied.
I'm so scared of being pregnant after what we went through with Mia.
I have no idea how i'll ever work up the nerve to tell him...
