A/N; Hey! It's been a while huh? My apologies for being so long on updates! The last few weeks of school were hectic and then I had surgery and summer school, and then school. And then! I completely forgot about this! How lame of me 😒😒
All good now! Enjoy the chapter!
———————————You flopped onto your bed, ready to sleep your anxiety away. Sadly that freedom of escape to the dream world would not come just yet, your phone was buzzing. It had to be almost midnight at this point.
You groaned to yourself and sat up, eyes half closed. Lazily tossing your arm out, you snatch up your device and look down at it. A huge beam of light hit your tired eyes and you had to turn the phone over to hide the deadly ray. You lifted the phone just enough to be able to turn the brightness down before looking to see that Kato of all people was calling. Fantastic. With a heavy sigh you answered the call. And before you could get a single word out you were hit with multiple questions that you couldn't even comprehend. Finally your friend calmed down their odd excitement and asked in a quiet voice, "So, how was he?"
Heat rose to your cheeks at the odd question. You had no idea what they were talking about and why they were even calling you at 12 AM. "Kato..." You grumbled, rubbing exhaustion from your eyes, "Did you have coffee?"
"Well I didn't know when you were going to go to bed so I stayed up and waited til now!" They chirped. Definitely had coffee. A single drop and that kid climbs the walls in a matter of seconds. An image of Kato in the corner of their bedroom, on the ceiling, sent a shiver through you. That would cause an absolute nightmare. "What did you want again?" You asked, leaning on your free elbow. Your friend coughed for a second to clear their throat and spoke quickly, their words almost morphing together. "WellIsawyouandMr.AftontalkingsoIjidtwantedtoknowhowitwent." Kato paused to take in a breath. "It looked like you guys were bonding so well!"
A laugh burst through your room and you doubled over, tears pricking your eyes as you wheezed. That was hilarious. The business owner had to be way older than you! You wheezed and wiped your eyes, Kato waited patiently for you to respond. You let out a snort, "He's way beyond my league. Besides, what do you even mean by 'bonding'???"
"W-Well...!" Kato stammered out, "He wiped the pizza grease of your face and you were blushing! So badly!" It sounded almost like a fan fiction in the works for them. Eww. You sighed heavily, "Kato. I literally just met him. And he's like..... twenty years older than me! Wait how did you even know I was there today??" Kato hesitated before spilling their diabolical plan, "You said you were gonna get an interview today so I thought I'd come bu and let out a whine but was cut off by you speaking again. "Look. I should get to bed, I got a lot to do tomorrow. And no more fantasizing about that stuff! It's weird." They let out a long, very long, groan but didn't seem to argue. "Well fine. I'll see you tomorrow Y/N."
"Good night, Kato." You chuckled and hung up on them, flopping back on your pillow. It had gotten cold from you being away from it's comfort for so long but you didn't mind. It was always nice to have a cold pillow to sleep with.Your dreams were.... odd. It was almost like watching a movie. And your eyes were the camera. You were watching a small kid with light brown hair, wearing a birthday hat and
You were smaller, much smaller. If you had to guess you were a seven year old. You were back at Freddy FazBear's. It looked like a birthday party you were celebrating. "Hey!" A voice squeaked from under the table, causing you to look under the plastic table cloth curiously. When you did you got a handful of cake to the face. You let out a surprised yelp and stumbled back, hitting the floor with your butt. "Hey! Jeremy that's not funny!"
The kid known as Jeremy snickered and climbed out from under the table. He had curly brown hair that looked like a start to an Afro. You wiped the cake off your face and huffed, "That's not fair!"
Jeremy laughed, "You're not supposed to know!" He smudged his cake covered hand all over his shirt. His parents were sure to scold him for that later. "That's why it's called a prank dummy." He ruffled your hair and you huffed. He had to have been a couple years older than what you were in the dream. His shirt was stained with dirt and now cake and frosting. He wore torn up shorts that looked like they went through a blender with some bananas and dog poo.
"I'm not dumb!" You defended, crossing your arms.
"Duuummyyy!" Jeremy teased, running off as you tried to give chase, waving a tiny angry fist in the air. But you quickly became distracted as Jeremy ran past the show stage, which had two large looming figures on it. You stopped realizing you'd run right in front of it, turning to stare at the large shapes. They didn't seem to notice you.. Too busy singing at enjoying themselves to soak in the fear that held you in place. On the left side of the stage stood a tall golden rabbit, standing with it's feet planted firmly on the stage, which creaked with every movement the rabbit made with it's torso. That one wasn't so bad for you. You didn't mind the rabbit. But it was the happily twisting and singing golden bear that terrified you. You backed up once your eyes locked with the bear's. You knew it was looking right at you. Right through you. Who else would it look at?? You took another step backwards and flinched when you bumped into someone. But not just anyone. You turned around and looked up. It was your older brother Micheal, who had a red fox mask over his face. As soon as you turned he put his hands up and shouted "BOO!" which made you cry out in fear and fall to the floor, curling up into a ball.
You jerked awake with a gasp, sitting up and took in a shaky breath. You looked around and realized you were back in your room. "Just a dream.." You breathed out. Your phone buzzed and you jumped, letting out a breath and running a hand through your hair you used your other hand to reach for the device, seeing what it was on about. You paused, seven missed calls from William. Jeez.... You really clocked out last night.
Letting out a heavy sigh, you unlocked your phone and called him. It felt weird to think of him on a first name status. It's not how you were raised. Yet he insisted on it. Kinda made you feel all tingly inside. Ew. God. Y/N pull yourself together. You climbed out of bed as the phone rang, putting it on speaker and washing your face. He's so much older than you, so gross. You shook your head and sighed, "I'm so disgusting.." You mumbled to yourself.
"Is this a bad time to be chatting?" William's amused voice came from your phone. You yelped in surprised and slipped on a puddle of water you made while washing your face and hit the floor painfully. "Ow...."
William chuckled, "By the sounds of it you're having a rough morning."
"I slept in." You mumbled, getting up and sighing. "I noticed you called, you didn't leave any voicemails."
"Your voicebox is full." He replied with a short laugh. You paused. Full? People don't call you that often right-? "Oh." You rubbed your face, Kato you idiot.. "I'll clear it out when I can." It was all you could say at the moment. After a couple moments of awkward silence and you cleaning up the seemingly never-ending puddle of water, William spoke up. Well, he cleared his throat. "So I was calling to make sure you were alright to come in for employee training today. We just had a spot on the day shift open up and I wanted to know if you were okay with that?" You were glad you didn't have to deal with the robots. Though... dealing with kids might be worse. You were still shaken up after your nightmare, yet you couldn't remember half the ordeal. Only that the animatronics were horrifying and Jeremy was an asshole. Whoever Jeremy was. And how did you know who Micheal was? Who even is Micheal?! Shaking your head to clear it you said, "I think I'll manage with it."
"Great!" William replied so fast you assumed he knew you'd agree. It was the only open job in the area, and you weren't too excited to move and leave your only friend behind to work in a hell hole by themselves. "Training starts at noon. So get here as soon as possible." Wait- NOON??? You checked the time and cursed, 10 AM. You definitely slept in. This is what you get for staying up til midnight like an idiot. You clambered out of the bathroom, having to run back in to grab your phone. "That sounds like a plan!" You exclaimed, trying and failing to not sound rushed. "I'll be there as soon as I can."The two of you said your goodbyes and you quickly rushed off to take a shower. Screw temperature, you're going to be an ice cube today. You squeaked at the shocking freezing temperature the water was at but forced yourself to suffer with it and quickly got yourself cleaned up. Once you were done you dried up and let out a sigh. You glanced at yourself in the mirror and realized how exhausted you looked. Were you always like that..? Shaking your head, you sighed to yourself and exited the bathroom to get dressed. Today was going to be the start of a long road that.... didn't look like it ever ended.
