— Wednesday - Somewhere in Hogwarts - 4:39pm —

Harry noticed five things that had changed since he'd broken up with Draco.

The first one was blatantly obvious. He no longer had a boyfriend. At first, it was liberating. He didn't have to worry about Draco's feelings, or how his actions would effect their relationship. But once he'd started getting used to being alone, he realized that he didn't want to get to used to being alone. He didn't have a boyfriend to dump all of his problems on anymore, he didn't have absolute security over the confidentiality of what he was saying, and he was just... bored.

It was boring being alone. He didn't have anyone to talk to, at least, not with Hermione being so attached to her animosity towards her soulmate and Ron being so distant; and now that he didn't have Draco to talk to anymore, he didn't have anyone who understood what he was feeling.

The second thing he noticed was that Draco seemed unnecessarily handsome now that he was single. His hair was less gelled, and his skin was less pale. His eyes were more sparkly, and his expression was more relaxed. He looked completely at peace, which was the exact opposite of what Harry felt. He supposed his own lack of presence could reduce the stress of others; this realization hurt. Had he been a pain in Draco's side since the beginning? Was he the reason for the blonde's hostile behavior? It was all plausible, he guessed.

The third thing he noticed was the supposed friendship formed between his friend group and Draco's. Ever since Hermione and Pansy had discovered their soulmate connection, (which was still kind of shocking to a lot of people, by the way), the Slytherin gang had been hanging around with the Golden Trio a lot more. It started with Pansy and Blaise, both of them joining the group at lunch on one Saturday afternoon right after a stunning quidditch match, (Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor) in which Gryffindor had dominated. Pansy had promptly sat next to Ron as an act of defiance,  and Hermione hadn't looked up from her book. Then Blaise Zabini had shoved his boyfriend, Neville, (Nev Nev), over to the side to join in on whatever conversation Pansy had started with Dean Thomas. He was followed gingerly by both Crabbe and Goyle, who had sat down only after insisting that Draco would not be joining them for lunch that day. Harry, who had never seen so much green at the Gryffindor table, was very confused when a certain Theodore Nott had asked if the seat next to him was taken.

Thus began the shifting of tables. A few days later, practically the whole school was in a free-for-all, and every table was open to all houses. Professor Dumbledore hadn't said a word about it, so it continued without complaint from the teaching staff.

The fourth thing Harry noticed was that he missed Draco so goddamn much. It seemed like Draco was completely ignoring the fact that they'd ever been in a relationship in the first place, and it hurt Harry a lot. He supposed that it didn't really make sense for him to be upset though, because, after all, it had been Harry that had pulled the plug on the whole relationship thing. He missed the way Draco used to smile at him as he recalled his day, the way Draco would always hug him from behind, the way Draco would just... be.

Everything about his boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, was perfect. And Harry needed more perfect in his life. He needed Draco's spark. It was dangerous to be with the blond, but he was Harry-fucking-Potter. If there was anything he could do, it was get a boyfriend. Or, in this case, get his back.
