It was incredibly hard to keep the tears at the back of her eyes, hurt was exactly what she felt the moment that door opened up, why ? She could not unravel. Her feet acted on their own withdrawing her from that horrible moment by running away was fast as they could. She sure heard Philip's voice calling her name but she was not able for he life of her face him at the moment, her emotions have all surfaced, she will not allow him to see her so vulnerable. Samira ran not knowing where, somehow she ended at the stables.
The wooden door cracked open sending a blast of the smell of hay and dirt into her face. She looked around and saw what looked to be about twenty doors with horses feet below and head above each. A boy, no older than 13 years old stopped brushing a horse's mane to look at the door noticing her presence. He walked towards her.
"Your highness, are you alright? you got lost? Let me help you find the way back to the castle."
"No, I need a horse, would you get a horse ready for me?"
"Sure mam, I'll also get two guards to escort you."
"No, I'll going alone, thank you."
"But--"
"I said alone." She interrupted.
"Of course your grace, as you wish."
The chestnut horse was ready in no time, she got herself on.
"Your highness, your should not leave the castle grounds alone, it could be dangerous."
Samira looked down to the boy.
"Don't tell anybody I was here."
"But---"
"Am I clear." Samira interrupted.
The boy lowered his head intimidated. "Yes mam."
She gave pressure to the sides of the horse with her ankles making the horse begin to gallop. She repeated the pressure and the horse begun to run faster.
The stable boy kept watching until the image if the princess vanished in the distance, he was about to push the sable door open when a voice made him startle.
"Hey you!!!"
The boy turned around and his eyes met the furry in prince Philip's own eyes.
"Y..yes y..your gr..grace may I help you?"
"Where is she?"
"W..who my lord?"
Philip strode towards the young boy, garbed him by the collar of his shirt making the poor boy's feet lift off the ground.
"I have no time and certainly no patience, so you better tell me right now where she is, one of the guards saw her coming this way."
"She ordered me to not say anything my lord." The boy said in a begging tone, hoping that the prince will understand his position.
"And I'll order your execution if you don't tell me right now."
The big stone castle seemed small when Samira looked behind. The trees around her made a soothing sound as the wind brushed her face. She closed her eyes and released a deep breath she didn't know she was holding. For the very first time since her departure from Kalon she felt at peace.
The sound of a tree branch breaking made her open up her eyes, she looked around and noticed that some how the energy around her was different. The forest did not seemed peaceful anymore. The horse felt the same as he became agitated, she tried to calm him down but the uncomfortable feeling of eyes on her was terrifying. Samira looked around but nothing came to sight. She looked to the right nothing.
