Samira tried to sleep that night, but her eyes wouldn't close while her mind seemed to be restless. She turned many times in her bed hoping to reach slumber and that just did not happen. Leaving the bed and walking around the room was no help either, the stone walls around her seemed to be closing off on her. Suddenly she felt the urge to leave the room, but the guards at her door wouldn't let her, specially at night. After her escape attempt sure they were given direct orders to not leave her out of their sight.

"Guards, what is that noise?" She opened the door and popped her head out to speak, her hair looked messy and her face simulated that she had just woken up.

"Forgive me lady, we did don't hear anything." One of the guards replied.

"How could you not? it woke me up. Please go and check the back of the palace, I'll try to go back to sleep now but wouldn't want to be woken up again."

"Your highness we are not allowed to leave your door." The other guard said.

"I'm not going anywhere, look how late it is and I'm tired, I'll be sleeping by the time you return."

Te guards hesitated for a moment but obeyed, she was the queen after all, how could they not follow her command.

The moment they disappeared in the corner of the hallway, she knew it was her time to run out not even bothering to put on a cloak over the white night dress.

She walked barefoot on the grass, somehow the cold moisture on her feet made her feel alive. Looking up to the dark sky asking the gods why have they disfavored her? Why was she living this nightmare?

"You have a special talent to hide yourself from my guards as you please, don't you?"

A familiar voice spoke from behind startling her.

"I have done so since I was a little girl, practice makes perfection." She replied looking into Philip's eyes.

"Like the day we first met in the forest? How foolish was that, I could have captured you."

"But you didn't, perhaps you should have. Our fate will be different now, Kalon will be yours without the burden of our marriage."

"Possibly, but I did not know who you were at the moment."

"A pity."

"How so? In the best case scenario instead of queen you'd be a slave now."

"If find that to be a better fate than what my life turned out to be."

Philip looked down in search for the right words. "Believe me when I say I wish I was able to give you a better life." He finally said lifting his gaze to find hers. His words reached deep, it was the silent weight of the truth.

Samira was the one now looking down, the wind making her hair and white night gown fly free, as fee as she wished to be. Tears clouded her vision and she tried to hide them from him. A finger lifted her chin, she looked up to find Philip now much closer to her, his strong green gaze locked hers. He moved his hand from her chin to slowly cares the side of her face, the way he gently slid his fingers in her soft skin while his eyes screamed something she refused to believe was taking her over the edge of her nerves.

"Tell me, how to make it better for you and I will make it happen." He whispered.

"Release your brother."

Philip looked down in deep thought, the possibility of Samira being in love with his brother was disturbing.

"You want that really bad, don't you?" He finally asked and she only nodded in confirmation.
