The next day came and I sat patiently at the table, waiting for Patrick to get up. I think he forgot to put an alarm. At 7:35, I went to his room and shook him awake. "Ppssttt, Patrick. Wake up, school," I said and he groaned. "Yep, you thought, I'm done with school and will never have to go again, but haha suprise you adopted a kid, and that means waking up and driving me to school." He sighed deeply and reluctantly got out of bed and dressed.

On the drive to school I said, "Remember, you have to take Tyson to the vet at 9 for his checkup, uhh the gardener will arrive at 10 and we need to go to get groceries. " He nodded, but I could tell he was still half asleep. It was probably a danger to have him driving, to be honest. But, hey, if I didn't remind him about what he had to do, who would? Trust me, I had learned that Patrick was terrible at remembering appointments or things. He kept a list of groceries on the fridge cause he always forgot. In his bedroom, he has a calendar where he has interviews, birthdays, and appointments written down. Yet again, he did have a busy schedule.

When we arrive at school, I jumped out of the car and asked, "What are you doing to do when you get back?" He blinked a little and said, "Sleep." "I think you're doing that right now," I said. His hair was messy and his glasses were crooked. "Mmmhh, have a good day at school." "Thanks. Bye," I said.

At school, I found Angelina and Jaime. "Cora, hello!" Jaime said, putting an arm around me. "How's my favorite cupcake?" I turned to Angelina. "Cupcake?" I asked, slightly confused. "Yes," she said smiling, leaning into me. I nodded understandingly, "But can I be a red velvet cupcake?" She thought and said, "I was thinking you'd be chocolate. " I turned, putting my hands up, "Fine. Just cause I'm Mexican. Be like that." Angelina eye's widened and her hands went around me and she cried, "No!I didn't mean it like that! I am so sorry." I laughed. "I'm kidding. I really like chocolate. Jaime asked, "When's your birthday? We've gotta know so we can bring you your cupcake on time."

The teacher appeared and we were walking to class now. "Sorry, gals. My birthday was September 13. We'll have to wait til next year for my birthday party extravaganza." I stretched out my hands as if to show just how fancy it would be. "No, I'm kidding. The most fancy thing will be plastic champagne cups filled with apple juice."

Angelina jumped up and down. "Perfect. I'll have time to plan your next birthday party. I'll have to get in touch with your dad by then so we can plan the details. Oh, btw, my birthday is June 27." I gave her a thumbs up. Jaime, who had to sit a few seats in front, whispered, "My birthday is October 30th. Badass, hu?" The teacher scolded her  for 'interrupting the class'.

By lunch, my curiosity on the annoying asshole was growing. "So, what's your brother's name?" "Joshua. " I thought for a moment. "You said there were two. Where's the other one?" She rolled her eyes. "He got into this private boarding school with a scholarship. He's like a nerd. His name is Finn." I nodded. Once again, Joshua was sitting alone. I felt like asking to go sit with him, but decided not to.

The rest of the day went fast. I didn't really notice anything until Monday came. Patrick was up and down cleaning and making sure everything was fine. I ate breakfast quietly and watched him call diffrent places inviting them to a party he was planning for Elisa. I couldn't go since it was an "adult party" as Patrick stated. David and Soren weren't going to go, so he invited them to come over and take care of me.

As he drove me to school he said, "Okay, I'm going to pick you up with Elisa. Please, Cora, I want everything to go well so please behave yourself. After I pick you up, we're going to watch a movie or something. Then at 8, I'll take Elisa to the party and David and Soren will take care of you until I get back. Do your homework and don't break anything, okay?"
