He hung up the phone again without saying Bye, Take care or anything like that. Yet it was alright with me. I headed towards college and as usual there was Nirav waiting for me near the gate of the college. Nirav was my best friend, the one who knew that I felt something special for Varun, more than "bff's". But Nirav and Varun were not so fond of each other. But Nirav was the reason I met Varun. That day is still so much alive and one of the best part of my memories...
26th June, the semester had begun, the school had started. Nirav and Varun were fighting for some reason still unknown to everyone. A punch on Nirav's face and he fell on the ground. Nirav woke up with rage and anger in his eyes and puched Varun so hard that he was not able to wake up at all. I rushed towards Nirav, "What the hell have you done? He is bleeding!"
I rushed towards Varun with a first aid box. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. It's just this blood..."
"Oh my god. It's bleeding so much. Just a second..."
I applied the bandage on his wound. His finger was bleeding very much. Without a second thought, I sucked the blood on his finger, and then there was a eye contact. His eyes locked to mine and then Nirav came to break the silence.
"Come on Priyanka. Let's get out of here. This person is not worth of your care and affection."
"No Nirav. We can't just leave him like that." I helped him to get up and dropped him home. He held my hand, "Thank you."
"Your welcome. Please don't create a problem for Nirav. I beg you."
"Hmm.. okay."
And that's how our friendship started...
It's been six years now. And we've been best freinds since the past five years. And he made a place in my heart somewhere in between these years. Even though Varun and Kirti had been dating since the past few months, my feelings for Varun had remained unchanged. I went and greeted Nirav with a smile.
"So today as usual Mr.Varun is late."
"Yeah."
"Why did you even fall for him at first place?! He is just so opposite!"
"Even i don't know the answer Nirav", and we headed towards the college.
