Saturday's night was followed by Sunday's hangover. Namrata had breakfast at my place and she left. I was so tired that I preffered to take a nap but those thoughts of pairing Sameer and Namrata didn't allowed me to sleep. Yet I lay on my bed and my phone beeped. I expected the text to be from Varun or Nirav, but it was Sameer. I opened it - "Need to talk to you urgently. Can we meet at 5 near the campus?"
I guess he wants to confess his love for Namrata to me, so I replied "Yes." It was 2pm, there was still plenty of time. My phone rang and this time it was Varun. I picked it up and said, "Hey! You sang really very well yesterday night. But I couldn't find you after the song. Where were you all the time?"
"I want to meet you." That's all he said.
"Anything serious?"
"I just wanna meet you", I couldn't sense his emotions for the first time ever.
"Okay. So when and where to meet?"
"4:30pm near the college campus." Before I could say anything he hung up the phone. The biggest thing that was driving me mad was the clash between Varun and Sameer. I hope Varun is not late and Sameer is not on time.
4:20pm sharped I reached near the campus waiting for Varun. It was 4:30, he still didn't turned up. I decided to call him, but it was all vain, he didn't picked up. I got a text from him. I opened it - "I'll be there by 4:45pm." Oh god! Why things have to be so complicated.
I waited for him. Like this was not enough, at 4:40pm I saw Sameer coming from the other side. I hid behing a tree and called Sameer. He picked up.
"Hey Sameer. I'll be late. Can we meet at 5:30?"
"Oh no no no. I already reached the campus."
"Okay. Then go back home. What will you do for the other 45 minutes!"
"Fine. I'll go back home then"
"Okay. Bye. Take care."
A sign of relief! I came out if the tree and sat down near the tree itself. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Finally Varun's here. I turned around and - "Oh fuck! Sameer!"
"I never knew you are so fond of hide and seek baby", he said in a flirty tone and ended with a smirk.
I was still sitting on the ground. I started to get up in a hurry and lost my balance and Sameer caught me. My eyes were closed in the fear of falling down. But when I felt his arms around my back, I felt safe and opened my eyes.
"Oh god. Thank you Sameer. This fall would have definitely led to a fracture."
"My pleasure baby doll", he winked and we both were smiling when my eye shifted towards Varun.. Wow! What a great story. I was with Sameer in his arms under a tree in front of Varun who was standing there with a box of chocolates and flowers staring at me.
I immediately stood up straight and said, "Hey Varun. I've been waiting for you since twenty minutes. Where were you?" Before Varun could reply, Sameer interrupted, "What?! You waited for him for twenty minutes and kept me on hold. Oh! So that's why you were hiding behind the tree, huh?" Before I could answer, Varun spoke, "Why don't you shut the fuck up! She is talking to me. You always have to poke your nose in between, don't you?"
Sameer chuckled and said, "Look who's talking. If I ask Priyanka, you have to answer and you are telling me!"
"She asked me first, so it's obvious for me to reply to her. But look at you!"
"You and your girlfriend. You both are made for each other. Inspite of dating each other, you both hit on other girls and boys. Your girlfriend hits on me and you on Priyanka."
"Oh. Just shut the fuck up"
"Don't have a point to argue boy? Sad! Go to your Mumma." And that was the ultimatum! Before I could react, Varun threw the box if chocolates and the flowers which he bought on the floor and bounced on Sameer. Sameer also became defensive and soon both of them became too violent. The situation was out of ny hands. I was shouting, screaming, but it was all useless. Neither of them stopped. Nothing could have happen worse than this. But i was wrong. A stern voice from behind spoke-
"Mr. Sameer and Mr. Varun. Stop it both of you!"
They stopped and we all turned back to see whose voice it was. Shit! The principal!
"Is this what you inherit from the college? Both of you have proven to be dark scars on the reputation of this college. I want to see both of you tomorrow morning sharp at 10am at my office. Now dismiss all of you!"
Both of them finally stopped ashamed of themselves. They were speechless. Without even uttering a word, I left from there. I heard both of them calling my name, but I didn't responded. They deserved my ignorance, but i was concerned for both of them. I don't know what was the Dean gonna do with them. Fingers crossed. I just hope for the best!
