I stepped inside the classroom to attend the lectures, but my mind was somewhere with Varun. The lecture started, but I wasn't paying attention. I was engrossed in my own thoughts of Varun, his family, his problems.. all of his worries. My reverie was broken by a loud opening of the door in a silence class. I realized that teacher was teaching something about Macro-Economics and a tall, fair and handsome guy entered.
"I'm sorry Ma'am. Was stuck in traffic."
"New student?"
"Yes Ma'am. I'm Sameer Malhotra."
"Oh Sameer! You are the son of the millionaire industrialist Mukesh Malhotra. Welcome to the Imperial College Of Conmerce and Ecconomics."
"Thank you Ma'am for your warm welcome."
And then the lecture of Macro-Economics was shifted to Sameer Malhotra. Then my gaze shifted to Kirti, her looks towards Sameer and his eyes on her. After his introduction, he came and sat right next to my bench beside Kirti. Oh god! That's another problem for Varun. Why his life had to be so complicated! I need to do something.
Kirti was a bitch. She dated popular guys for her own popularity and then ditched them in their bad times. But Varun! I guess he had truly fallen for that girl.
The lecture ended and I saw Kirti and Sameer going out of the class togather. Damn! I need to do something. I ran behind them.
"Hey Kirti", I said with an extra sweet voice.
"Oh, Priyanka. Any message or work?" Damn! She was a bitch. She couldn't be sweet to anyone. I had to think of somethhing. "Yeah. Actually Varun wanted you to meet me before today's show."
"Oh... Okay. I'll talk to him. Anything else?"
"Ummm... Yeah. You could call him and confirm. You know Varun loves you so much. He just can't concentrate on anything without your wishes."
"Who's Varun?", finally Sameer spoke.
"He is Kirti's boyfriend. They are dating since a long time. You see, they love each other so much..." Kirti cut off my sentence and said,"Not a long time sweetheart. It's just a few months."
"Hmm.. okay. Won't you introduce your friend?"
"She is not a friend actually. She is just Varun's bestie."
"I'll only introduce myself. I'm Priyanka."
"Hey Priyanka, I'm Sameer." He came for a hug, but I preffered a handshake.
"Sameer, I guess we are getting late. You promised me to buy something for freshers, we have to go togather."
"But Kirti. You shall be going with Varun. He is waiting for you."
"Yeah. I guess you should go with Varun. I'll find another date."
"But Sameer..."
"It's okay. You guys carry on." Then he turned to me and ansked, "Do you have a date?"
Oh no! I don't want a love triangle here, but I couldn't help it, atleast for now. I had to go with him.
"Nope. I'm alone."
"So will you come with me?"
"Yeah. Sure." And that's the moment when Kirti murmured 'bitch'. Mission successful.
He left Kirti's hand hand and came towards me. I didn't get too close to him, but it was all okay. Soon I need to fine someone for Sameer before either of us start feeling for the other. We just turned around and there was Varun, shocked to see me with Sameer. I raised my hand for a 'hii' but just noticed that my hand was in Sameer's hand. Oh god! Why! Varun headed towards me and his first and obvious question,"Who is he? I never knew you had a boyfriend!"
"Oh, no no no no no... He is not my boyfriend. He is Sameer, new student. He came in class today itself. He dosen't know anyone here, so I became friends with him. And he is my date tonight."
"You never told me you had a charitable institution with new college nerds." He said with a smirk and that made Sameer red in anger. Why? Why! Why that happens to me!"
"Dude, why don't you mind your business? Just look at your girlfriend, she keeps on hitting new boys in college. Maybe you are not enough to satisfy her need."
Crap! There goes Varun being violent towards Sameer for a punch. I had to stop him.
"Hey guys. Chill! Varun, you go to Kirti and focus on your performance. I'll meet you at the freshers party." Varun gave me a 'just-stopped-for-you-look' and went towards Kirti. I turned to Sameer, "Why are you guys so immature and possesive?"
"Just for beautiful girls like you", he winked.
And that followed a chain of other cheezy pick-up lines! Phew! I need to do something about this guy.
