Chapter 3

I'm in a forest. Not like the one I was in with Luke. It was all dead, with bare trees, a thick fog, it looked spooky actually. I don't know what to do, so I start walking. The other trees until they're right in front of you. In the corner of my eye, I see something move. A black figure. I get scared so I curl up in between two trees. I look around but see nothing.

Bam! The black figure is right in my face. I scream in horror. You can't see the head of the figure, because it looks like a person covered in a long, black robe with a hood. It's misty hands grab my throat and begin to squeeze. I suffer from the lack of air, my wheezing split up by my gasps. My mind stops for a slight second, and soon I am looking down at my body getting choked by the black monster.

In the blink of an eye, my setting changes to a corn maze. It's just like the one my father used to take me to at the annual fall festival. The paths are wide, and many people walk by me. They don't acknowledge that I'm there like it's a normal day at the festival.

All of the sudden, the people stop walking, turn around, and stare at me right in the eyes. Soon they start changing into these zombie, skeleton things and slowly walk towards me. They come from all angles, so I have nowhere to run. They soon corner me as they approach. The first one to get to me comes right up to my face.

I don't know why, but I can't move. I just stare straight into the empty gaps were its eyes should be. Surprisingly, it takes its boney fingers and delicately touches my chin to pick my head up. Just as I thought I was safe, it screams:

"Get out! You can't stay here! Get out!" Its voice scares me so bad that I close my eyes, cover my ears, and scream.

I'm soon back in the eery forest. The shadowy figure is nowhere to be found, but I still sit between the two trees. I'm still covering my ears and slowly begin to stop screaming.
