Today
"Everyone down on the ground! This is a robbery!" Armed thugs burst into the room, guns cocking. The receptionist quickly reached under the counter, desperately trying to find the alarm button but was shot in the shoulder before they could. "Don't try anything stupid."
The gunshot rang out and the people in the facility hastily bent down and covered their heads. Some were crying but was quickly silenced to whimpering as another gunshot was fired to the ceiling. All of the hostages were cowering on the floor. All but one.
A soft humming was heard from a short, fairly young-looking woman who wasn't there before. She was donning a leather jacket with a blue denim button-up shirt under, dark blue jeans with black straps, a pair of fingerless gloves, and boots.
She was wearing headphones and scrolled through her phone, lightly tapping her foot on the ground as she side-leaned against the wall, seemingly oblivious to what was happening around her.
"Oi! You over there! You got a death wish or sumn?!" The man bellowed but received no reaction from the woman. The woman's humming was slowly agitating the already stressed man. Losing his composure, he aimed his gun to her head and fired. As the gun fired, the lights flickered on & off and the woman disappeared.
A bullet hole was present on the wall where the woman leaned against, smoke coming from it. The man, as well as the others that were regarding the situation, was looking at the wall in confusion.
"Hey, asshole," The woman called out, now seated cross-legged on the counter with a soda can that came out of nowhere in her hand, sipping it annoyingly long and loud, evident that she was taunting the man.
Another shot rang out and the lights flickered once again, and the woman was somewhere else, unharmed and taunted the man. Patience running thin, the man shot at her every time he missed. After a while, the facility lights went out completely, not turning on.
As the lights turned back on, the heavily armed men that were holding the hostages at gunpoint either had their entire body except the head encased in ice or concrete or some electrocuted to paralysis. The one thug still standing was the one that failed to shoot the girl multiple times. The man was shaking in fear as his eyes darted from body to body of his fallen associates.
"Boo." The man turned around but was met with an unnerving cold enveloping his body. The last thing that he saw was the face of the petite woman with a deadly glint in her eyes.
Police sirens were heard outside of the facility. The woman looked over to the dazed hostages with a smile of reassurance as the lights flickered once again, the woman was now gone, only leaving behind soda cans.
