Returned But Broken

~Chapter Five~

"He crossed a line," Blaze growled as I hid behind the doorway to the kitchen the pack in there.

"He's trying to help," Mom said softly disappointment in her voice, "But Eric that was to much. Obviously something bad happened to our daughter. We should wait before we make her tell us."

Dad sighed, "I want her to recover from the things she's gone through. But maybe she would feel better if there was a female in the room."

I decided to enter the room, they looked at me and smiled any look of aggravation or distress leaving their face instantly. Mom smiled at me and hugged me lightly as I was still sore. I smiled back and sat down as she handed me a plate with breakfast and a drink my medicine at the side. I grimaced at the small pink and blue pills. Quickly taking them I shook and ate my food. As I finished Mom took my plate and sat across from me before my dad asked me a question.

"Can you shift for us?" he asked.

I tensed but nodded and followed them outside, they looked at me expectantly and I blushed looking down. Okay come on Rosette shift so you can go back in and sleep, it's freezing out here.

I closed my eyes and opened them everything was sharper. Grey paws held me up and I smiled I had shifted. Dad smiled at me proudly, "She looks just like me."

They all shifted dad's wolf towering over me as he was alpha. Blaze walked over to me his dark black fur shaking as he looked at me. He was much taller then me he towered over me as he took a spot beside me. They soon went from wolffish grins to looks of confusion.

I couldn't hear my pack, their thoughts should be linked to mine but they aren't. Even worse my mates thoughts she be linked to me but they aren't. My wolf groaned aching for her mates voice. They all shifted back while I stood confused and alone.

"Rosette darling shift back," Blaze said and I shifted back.

I stood up fully clothes and they frowned, "You can't hear our thoughts and we can't hear yours."

I nodded, "It's been like that ever since I shifted," I answered.

I shivered and Blaze was instantly beside me his arm around my shoulder as he took his jacket off putting it on me. I cuddled into his jacket his musky cologne surrounding me as I warmed up.

They looked at me confused again, "Your always cold you should be warm your temperature."

I leaned into Blaze, "Let's just get we inside I don't want her sick," Blaze said wrapping an arm around me.

I shivered and held tighter to him, something felt off and being with him made me better.
