"The soul seems to fall into the state of ghoul," said the hooded figure.
Persephone threw them a puzzled look. "Ghoul?" She asked.
"Yes, my queen," he said. "It's a state were the soul holds onto the memory of their life on earth."
The soul let out another horrible cry. "But why is she so sad?"
The hooded figure's beady blue eyes met Persephone's curious gaze, his thin lips lifted slightly. His bony pale hand reached out from the raggedy sleeve, his palm extended out in front of her and a bright white light flickered on top of his hand, soft fuzzy images began to float around her. She inspected closely and noticed the figure in the projection. It was the female soul in torn up clothes, her beautiful pale skin was marred by patches of blue and green, and someone stood hovering over her.
Persephone's throat tightened and her eyes began to sting greatly. "Who is that man?" She asked.
"It's her partner," he said.
Persephone's teeth gritted so hard that it hurt, "Why would he do such a terrible thing?" Her hands were beginning to tremble, but her heart grew like the fires that rumbled outside.
"Greed, ego," Hades answered with his head shaking in dread.
A hard ache set in her jaw. "A man beats a woman because of ego," she said. "That's disgusting."
The woman's soul was so colourless, it was nothing compared to what she witnessed in heaven. Persephone felt all the joy from the festival and celebrations leave her mind, her heart began to wilt like the petals on a flower when the storm was too harsh. Persephone took a step closer when the ghoul let out another terrible cry.
"Seph," Hades voice was a low but harsh.
Her glare surprised Hades. "Let me try," she said sternly, so reluctantly Hades had to step aside.
Persephone quietly sat on her knees next to the ghoul and put her palm in front of the woman, "Marie," she spoke softly to the female. "Look" -Persephone's palm filled with golden light that sparkled like the morning dew on green meadows. The ghoul's pale blue eyes that glistened with unfallen tears began to widen and fall under the mesmerizing spell- that all fall under upon witnessing nature at its finest.
From the middle of her palm, Persephone could see a crimson bud beginning to bloom, and it twirled its petal with an impressive beauty like the bud knew it had spectators. The ghoul's gaze lifted and finally considered Persephone, but the hard ice and sadness still swam in her eyes. The ghoul suddenly lifted her translucent hand, alarming everyone, Persephone had to quickly push her hand into the air to stop all sudden movements.
"She's no threat to me," said Persephone. "Marie" -The ghoul recognized her name- "would you like to see more?" Persephone asked gently. She circled her arm around the ghoul and lifted her with ease since the ghoul weighed less than a book.
-Hades POV-
Hades watched his wife's amber eyes fill with the same warmth- that of the great sun, the golden honey darkened with the deepened flecks of green that bloomed into a beautiful turquoise. She had lifted the ghoul and walked out of the chamber without any worry or fear; Hades lips lifted. He followed his wife closely even though she told him not to, but ghouls can get dangerous if they find any hint of weakness in the one's standing close to them.
Hades witnessed the beautiful rose, which had bloomed in the same hands that caressed him so gently, after passing the long glass corridor, he knew exactly where his mischievous yet clever wife was heading.
