Kentaro chuckled as he watched you playing with your stuffed dog. It had been a present from Oikawa as a gag gift to the child shortly after the single father had adopted you. He had tried to get rid of it unfortunately, you were attached to it. So your dad had decided to just let it go; he was finishing up making lunch for you two. Rice and surprise surprise chicken, "(y/n), it's time to eat." the four year old got up from her spot from the living room, carrying the dog with her. Oh and did I forget to mention that the dog had been named Mad dog by Oikawa as well? Yeah Kentaro really wanted to thank Oikawa SOOOO much for that. They both ate their lunch in silence, Kentaro looking at you he adopted you when you were two years old, he found you in an alley crying because your parents had no longer wanted you. But there was something nagging in the back of his mind, you had never called him dad. Ever. You called all of his old teammates uncle whenever one of them came to visit, but when it came to Kentaro you would always answer yes or no or Ken-chan. (I'm sorry I had to do that.) Kentaro loved you, despite what his facial expressions say otherwise. He wanted you to call him daddy, he wanted you to cuddle up to him. But you didn't seem interested or comfortable with it, the only thing that he did was hold your hand while crossing a street. But what he didn't know, was that you wanted to call him daddy, hug him, all that stuff. But in your little mind, you remember your real parents dumping you because you thought you had been too clingy, and you were afraid that Ken-chan would do the same thing to you if you became attached to him as well, so you never expressed yourself. Kentaro's old teammates knew how both parties felt, and wanted to help their friend and niece. So, the next day, they all went back to their old gym to have a little reunion and perhaps play a few rounds of volleyball of course. (FYI, Kentaro was a third year when he adopted you, so you've been here before.) "Hey (y/n)! Check this out!" You looked up in time to see uncles Oikawa and Iwa-chan serving volleyballs across the gym. "That's so cool! Can I try?" "I don't know..." Iwa began, but Tooru beat him, "Of course you can! It's really easy!" You got off the bleachers and went towards your uncle, excited. Kentaro never let you play because he was afraid you might get hurt. "She's all yours, I'm going to help the others finish setting up the stuff outside. " And with that, Iwa-chan went outside to help set up the picnic with others, leaving it just you and Tooru. "Ok (y/n), I am going to go on the other side of the gym and serve one to you ok?" "OK!" But there was a problem, and the entire team could tell you it, while Oikawa was a lot of things, a teacher he was not. And because of that he had forgotten to tell you how to receive a ball. So when Oikawa served it to you, it was painful, literally, considering it hit you square in the face! Tears immediately started to pour down your cheeks, "Shit! (y/n) I'm so sorry, it was an accident!" He came up to you, and held you, trying to ease the pain, but you didn't want him, you wanted Kentaro. So that's what you did, "DADDYY!" Everyone's head shot up at your cries, Kentaro's held shock, but he still ran to sound of your voice. He ran inside to see you struggling against Tooru, a bit of blood coming out of your nose. As soon as you saw him, you held your arms out to him, tears streaming down your cheeks. "Daddy!" Shaking his head, he came up to the two of you and took you in his arms, you continued to cry hugging him for dear life. Iwa-chan had gotten some napkins, and was helping you clean the blood. A dark aura came around Kentaro, truly becoming the Mad dog title he had gotten back in high school. "What did you do to my daughter?" He was practically seething at Tooru, who was cowering in fear. He was also making you scared as well, you whimpered in fear, catching his attention. He softened his expression considerably and brought you closer again. After everything had calmed down, you all enjoyed a nice lunch before everyone decided to go home. Later on that night, after getting you ready for bed, Kentaro was just finishing tucking you in for the night when he felt a tug on his hand. He looked back at you to see you with your head down. "I'm sorry." He was confused by your statement, "For what?" "I didn't mean to call you daddy, it just happened. I promise it won't happen again! Please don't kick me out!" Kentaro stood there shocked, you didn't call him that because you were afraid that he was going to abandon you the same way your real parents had? He sat on your bed, and pulled you onto his lap. It was then that he realized you had started crying, pulling at his heartstrings. He started stroking your hair "Princess, you have no idea how wrong you are. I am not getting rid of you, ever. And if you want to call me daddy, then I have no problems with that. The day I adopted you, you became my daughter, my little girl, my everything. So don't you dare ever be afraid to tell me something if it's bothering you. Ok?" You nodded your head, cuddling closer to him, making your dad chuckle at the sight. You let out a small yawn, and slowly fell asleep, still cuddled up to him, carefully, he set you back in bed, and tucked you back in, "Good night princess, I love you." "I love you too daddy." Anyone who would've seen the mad dog then and there would've thought he finally lost it. But no he finally heard what he's been waiting to hear, and honestly, he couldn't wait to hear say it more.
