It had been four days since i had been given the news form the doctor about Indi. Four days since i moved in to the hospital to be here for her. Four days waiting for Indi to wake up. Four really long days. Constantly waiting. I was always worried and i didn't want to get my hopes up because i knew, even though the doctors were confident that she would wake up, i still had to bear in mind that she might not wake up. It was only a small possibillity that she might not, but it was still a possibillity. I had just gotten back from the hospital canteen and giftshop from this floor with yet another gift for Indi, as well as a magazine and coffee for myself. I always bought something for Indi when i visited her in here. Whether that be a teddy bear, some flowers, or nice perfume. I sat down the large bunch of flowers on the hospital cupboard stand next to her bed, along with the bear that i had gotten her. I sat down in the chair next to her bed, picking up the magazine and flipping through the pages. Not long after a nurse came in, and seeing the flowers, went out and came back in with a vase. I thanked her and she left with a smile, and small nod. I sat beside Indi's bed for some time, hearing her constant breathing, and a smile appeared on my face. Soon Indi, very soon. I thought to myself. My phone buzzed and i pulled it out of my pocket to see i had a message from Jackson. I opened the message and read it.
FROM: Jackson at 2.47pm
Hi Logan, i don't want to seem rude or intrusive, but why were you at the hospital the other day.
Oh. How can i answer that.
TO: Jackson at 2.51pm
I think that maybe you should come to the hospital now. We need to talk about something. Don't mention any of this to Emlyn please.
I got up from the chair, leanig over and kissing Indi softly on her forhead, telling her i would be back shortly. I walked slowly, taking my time to the elevator. The ding of the elevator brought me out of my thoughts, and i stepped out, making my way to the exit and stepping outside. I made my way over to a seat a couple of metres from the doors and sat down waiting for Jacskon. I sat back and closed my eyes, thinking about what i was going to say to Jackson. How much was i actually going to say to him? He would find out eventually that she was my sister, but did i really want to say anything about that yet. Did i just want to say she was a friend? Would he say anything to Emlyn. It would be kind of hard to believe that she was just a friend, especially if Emlyn didn't know about her or any of my visits. I felt someone sit down next to me, but they didn't say anything for quite some time.
"What am i supposed to do?" I mumbled to myself. I opened my eyes and turned to the person next to me to find that it was Jackson. How long has he been there?
"You wanted to talk?" he asked.
I nodded my head and stood up heading to the entrance of the hospital. An unspoken agreement between us that he would follow me. We reached the elevator and stepped inside. Pressing the button for floor 6 i waited for the doors to close and take us up. I still had no idea on what i was going to say. The elevator dinged and we both stepped out. We were passing the nurses station, and reception desk when one of the nurses called out to me.
"Hey Logan sweetie, who is this you have with you?" I turned around to see Elaine. Elaine was Indi's main caring nurse, along with the other few casuals who tended to her. I smiled softly at her.
"Hi Elaine. Um, this is Jackson. Jackson, this is Elaine."
"Well aren't you a cutie!" She grinned. "Are you here to visit Indi today? I tell you this young sweetheart seems to never leave! I always seem to see her here. Can't get rid of her, really." Elaine chuckled, pulling me into her for a brief hug.
I looked to Jackson. Confusion flashed in his eyes briefly, but he nodded none the less looking to me. "Ah, yeah. I'm here to visit. Logan asked me to come down."
"Well alright then. I better let you two get to it." Elaine smiled, letting us head off.
I made my way to Indi's room, but stopped short of oppening the door.
"Maybe we should head to the visitor's lounge and talk first." I said, turning back to look at Jackson. He nodded briefly and i made my way to the lounge with him following behind.
I felt utterly exhausted. All of this was begining to take it's toll on me. I entered the lounge and sat down on one of the couches towards the back of the room, but near the window where the sun was shining in. Jackson sat down next to me, and turned to look up at me.
"Who is, Indi?"
I turned my whole body to face Jackson, folding my legs on the couch. Well, here it goes.
"Indira Maddison Reed. Indi, she is, um... she is my sister."
Hi guys! So it probably seems like ages since i have been on here. And you would be correct. Anyway, i had one of my Psychology outcomes today. Fingers crossed i pass haha. I just hope that you are all liking it so far. I am enjoying writing this one. I really want to finish it before i do any more work on my other stories that are currently in progress. I am not sure how many more chapters i will do on this. I don't think i will worry about putting a number on it because i was going to say a few chapters ago that it would be almost finished. That it would only be short. But i seem to keep adding pieces here and there.
Anyway i really, really hope you are all enjoying it so far. any comments and such are appreciated greatly.
