Jack

"Not that I am glad one of my babies survive doctor but how?"

Sitting in the doctor's office, my leg kept on fidgeting. Jordan was still asleep and hope she would wake up soon.

"Yes it is a bit early. In most case a twin usually shares one sack, one egg making the twin identical. But Ms. Richard had two separate eggs making them fraternal." Though it doesn't make any difference, I wanted to know so that I can explain to Jordan that she had lost one of the babies.

I couldn't tell her but I didn't want to lie about this one. And should she find out she would hate me for hiding the fact about one of our babies.

How am I suppose to tell her though? If I could I would like to shield her from all the pain.

"Son, she would make it fine. She's a strong girl." Deleon patted my shoulder as I stood here looking down at her leaning against the wall with my arms crossed.

"You think so. Then uncuff her."

"Wish I could do but we have to question her?"

"You know if I wanted to, I could kill you." I joked and he knew that.

"Yea you could but we both know you won't otherwise you would have done so a long time ago."

Cocky bastard.

A phone rang, his phone making him leave. Good. I have to get Jordan out of those cuffs and out of here. I can't have her go to jail. Not ever.

The night has fallen and I continue to hold one of her free hand. "Jordan, baby." I always speak to her in hopes she would answer me.

"Mmm.." her voice had moaned.

"Jordan!" Taking her hand I kissed the back of it letting her know I am here.

Slowly her eyes fluttered opened with a groan as she winced at the sight.

"Ja..ck." She croaked as she tries to sit up but only flinch.

Helping her up, I poured her a cup of water that was near her bed and help her drink little at a time.

"What happened, where am I?" Shock and confusion written on her face as she takes in her surroundings.

"Baby, thank goodness you're alive and alright." I sobbed not once letting her go. As much as she needs to rest, I needed to feel her, her warmth. "You were in an accident."

"An accident." She repeated when her free arm moved towards her stomach and her other couldn't budge due to the cuffs, she hissed on contact.

"Am I being arrested." She gasped.

"Baby no, I will never allow that to happened."

Lowering her gaze, "Our..."

"Our baby is fine." I smiled when she smiled.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you Jack I was going to bu..."

"Shh its okay...." I inhaled a deep breath for what I was about to say, "But...we lost one baby."

"What, I don't understand."

"Twins baby, we were going to have twins." Light sobs escape her lips.

"Twins but..."

"I'm sorry we lost one."

"What, Jack, we lost one." She teared, her breathing hyperventilating.

"Baby, calm down please." I pulled her body close to me.

"Jack our baby, I'm sorry, I tried to... but they were coming...oh god I am a failure as a mother." She blab putting one of her arms around me crying. Her tears had soaked my shirt but I didn't care.

"Shh...baby you did all that you could..."

"I'm sorry for not telling you, I wanted to but...and then this happened. And now our baby is..." She wailed.

"Baby listen to me..." Pulling her back I leaned to look straight into her eyes, "You are not a failure. And I'm sorry for not being there for you. Even though we lost one, this baby our baby that is inside you needs you to be strong."

"How are you here not that I am glad but I thought... am I going to prison?" She asked innocently pouting her lips. If it was any other day I would say she is cute. How can I let this cute face go to prison.

"No, trust me."

"But I killed her." She whispered looking away.

"No, baby you did not. Look at me, you were not at my home that night."

"But Jack..."

"No you listen to me. You did not make it to my home understand."

"I can't, I was there and..."

"Jordan," I growled her name, "If anyone ask you didn't make it to my house on time. And you fled once you had seen the police car."

She looked hesitant but I will have her believe my story, "Now tell me, what did I just tell you."

"That I didn't arrive to your house and I fled upon arriving at the sight of all those cop cars. But Jack that did..."

"I don't care if it did or did not happened! You will do as I say!" I commanded my voice almost yelling.

"Okay."

"Good girl." Kissing her forehead, her arm scraped against the cuffs.

"These are uncomfortable."

"I know baby, I know. I will have them removed soon."

"Well I see someone's awake." Standing next to her Deleon gawked at us. "I hope you two aren't planning on escaping. We got a lot of questions to ask you."

"Deleon gave her a break. She just woke up." I snapped.

"Don't worry Saunders I will give you your moment. I'll wait until you are discharge and fully healed..."

"Then what?"

"What do you think Saunders?" I didn't want to argue with him especially not in front of Jordan.

"Let's talk outside."

Leading the way, I felt Jordan grasps my arm, "Don't worry I'll be back."

Once outside, "Let's strike a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Deleon let a cigarette only for a nurse to scold him.

"We both know what I do for a living. How bout I help you get the names of all those drug lord and gun smugglers."

"And what is in it for you?"

"For Jordan and I to go free."

"She killed Ms. Lily Cruz and we both know you are the worse of them all and you expect me to strike a deal for your freedom?"

"What do you think?"

Deleon stopped to think, "If you ask me it is a win, win situation. All I want is to live my life with her."

"So you are telling me all this you'll quit for a woman."

"She's worth it." I should have done this along time ago when she asked me too.

"Wow, I thought I would never see the day where the great Jack Saunders well throw in the towel. After I tried to get you to do that years ago. I should have gotten you a woman then." He chuckled. "Unfortunately even if I wanted to accept your deal my commander won't allow me. He knows what you are capable of and hell, if I let you walk free he'd have my head."

"What if there is a way."

"Go on, I'm listening."
