7. oh well

Liz's Pov:
"Begin." Bruce said as Jason and I began to spar. We both had a boa staff and my powers we're blocked by a device so it would be fair. Jason took the first attack and I did my best to dodge and block most of the shots some getting me then I turn the tables spinning after having him in a block knocking his staff out and kicking him in the stomach."Well look who's well versed." He said after catching his staff.

We continued sparring, getting in as many shots as I could, though it was hard because if I've learned anything it would be that Jason focuses on his combat skills more than anything else. Eventually I knock his staff out of his hands far away enough where it will buy me some time. I jump up and try to choke him with my legs which was going well until he got out of my hold elbowing me in the stomach. As I try to get up from the mat he sweeps my feet out from underneath me finalizing his victory.

"Good match." Jason says holding out a hand to help me up. "That it was." I say accepting the help. Jason is pretty much my brother since he's Bruce's other ward but he can be a bit of an asshole. "Good job both of you. Liz make sure you keep practicing." Bruce says as we put away the staffs. Its been three weeks since I've arrived at the manor and I've been working on controlling my powers. I also have been sparring with Jason and practicing my combat skills so I can get better and be just as strong without my powers as I am with them.

I looked at my phone to see 1,568 missed calls from the members of the group home, I've only been gone for about 3 weeks! Ill ask Bruce if I can make an arrangement to go over there and clear up some things. I mean I left them a voicemail saying that I found who I was looking for and was now their ward but that apparently wasn't enough to make them stop calling.

I took my staff back out and began practicing different techniques. What if someone died? What if someone's in the hospital? My phone rang and I dropped the staff. It has to be urgent otherwise they'd stop calling. I walk over to the bench and pick up my phone and check who it is. It's billy and unlike all the other times I've ignored the calls I took a deep breath and answered the call.

"Hi Billy, what's so important that I've gotten a collective thousand voicemails from the members of the group home?" "Listen I know that you're doing what you need to do and whatever but we need your help." "What is it?" Well wee it's kind of not a secret that us kids at the group home are Fawcett City's superheroes since Freddy stupidly went after you which I had to listen to how much of an idiot he was and so on so we know you have powers. So we got some death threats from some bad guys who figured out who we are and we're hoping you might help us beat them."

" I don't think that's a good idea" I respond. "Why not?!" "Hmm where to start? I still am not completely in control of my powers yet, I am hours away, can't just drop my life here and go on vacation, it will most likely be awkward if I come back, my legal guardian will most likey say no, and I don't have a suit." I stated "I wouldn't be so sure about that." I spun around to see Bruce with his arms crossed "Jesus you're going to go e me a heart attack!" I said.

"Go you're ready I also already made you a suit I'll have Alfred bring it to you but you also have to bring Jason." "Thank you so much Bruce I promise you won't regret it!" I say awkwardly hugging him "yeah you're welcome kid." He says walking out. "Who was that?" Billy said. "My legal guardian I guess we'll come to you." I say "we?" I hang up and go to my room to start getting ready.

Bruce had us go in the private jet and let me say it was fancy and it took a couple hours. When we finally got off the plane we took a cab to the ironworks hotel and checked in and went to the room Bruce payed for, the freaking penthouse I mean the place was already fancy enough. I put my bags into my room and went back out to leave.

"where are you going?"Jason asked "I have to run a few errands to be able to get my friends here without any problems." "What are you stupid I have to go with you Bruce would kill me if anything bad happened to you! He said so he came with me.

I pulled out my notebook "ok so theres 6 of them 4 are the same age or older than me 2 are younger and we have to sneak some of them out to meet up so we can discuss how it's going to work. Darla and Eugene are too young and would be pointless to bring for a conversation unless you want to watch Eugene play videogames and listen to the millions of irrelevant things Darla might have to say. An Pedro doesn't talk alot so that leaves Billy, Mary and Freddy." it's totally not going to be awkward. I thought "what would make it awkward?" Jason said "I said that out loud didn't I?" "Yes and you already know I'm going to bother you until you tell me why." Lovely just lovely.

Sorry the update took forever my phone has been real glitchy deleting this chapter making me restart freezing and having some weird glitch where sometimes when I type it repeats what it type three times or backspace it will backspace other parts of the story so again I apologise.❤️
