"DELETE"

I've heard that phrase before. That could only mean one thing.

Cybermen.

The Doctor turns around to meet the metal monster. A blue fan of light scans him head to toe.

"You will be upgraded" Its metallic voice screeches. I look to my side to see an empty space, where there should be a small girl. My eyes search for her, landing in the corner near a cable box. She has her hands planted inside it, her nimble fingers working quickly. All of a sudden, she backs away and crawls back to me, standing behind me quietly.

The cyberman takes a small step towards the Doctor and my stomach twists in pain. It's arm stretches forward to grab him by the shoulder. The cyberman picks him up by the shoulder. An electric shock flows from its arm to the Doctor. The pain in my stomach grows, and grows until it's unbearable. The pain shoots from my stomach to my head as quick as lightning.

The world goes black.

She insisted I call her by her first name. How uncomfortable. But against all principles I would be taught by her; I obliged. Just when I was wrapping my head around the notion; Darla's head rolled back into an altered state of consciousness. Her eyes emerged. Only this time, with a fiery illumination. An aura befell; then enveloped her once pale body. Darla appeared lofty, yet fragile.

"Get down" A voice says. Its obviously her, since it's coming from her mouth, but it's not her. It's not the sweet voice I know, the one I trust. This new voice is bolder, stronger. Automatically, I do what I'm told. Mostly out of habit. Down on my hands and knees, I see the most beautiful sight.

Darlas body glows stronger and brighter. A piercing scream erupts from her mouth. Her feet part with the floor and her body slowly rises. The doctors body is still jerking with electricity, but he turns to see darla, eyes wide. A ring of gold dust forms around her body, building quickly.

Then, all of a sudden, the ring bursts out and the cyberman collapses to a heap of metal on the cold metal floor. Darlas overworked, unconscious body falls like the monster she had just defeated. Tears blur my vision as I saunter over to her. She can't be dead, she couldn't have used that much of her energy to do that. My arms scramble to find a pulse.

The waiter walks back over. He's to excited for my liking. It's almost... unrealistic.

"Is everything al-al-al-right?" He stutters. I don't think he has a stutter, because he hasn't stuttered before.

"Are you okay?" I ask cautiously, studying his face for an explanation.

"You-" he starts, staring daggers into my forehead. "You will be,"

"What!?" I ask, starting to get annoyed. What does this jerk want!

As the irritated question leave my lips, the whole restaurant turns to my direction. They all speak in unison, eyes glowing red.

"You will be upgraded."
