"Raven, hurry the fuck up! It's almost midnight" Octavia nervously paced around the mechanic. "Someone take that annoying Blake away from me" Raven growled without looking at us. "Come on Octavia. You're stressing her too much" I dragged her away. "Where's Lincoln?" she asked starting to run around looking for her boyfriend.
"Don't use Octavia as your role model" I whispered to the kids, who watched te whole scene. "Don't even worry about that" Tristan chuckled. "Ready for the countdown?" Monty came jogging. "What were you doing?" I asked him when I noticed how out of breath he looked. "I've been running around for the past hours to find everything to do my moonshine" he grinned and wiped away sweat on his forehead. "Did I heard the word moonshine" Jasper looked between me and Monty. "Go find everyone so they can get their glass and get ready for the countdown" I ordered Jasper who obeyed.
"Okay it's ready" Raven grabbed her glass. "Just in time" I glanced at my watch. "15 seconds!" I shouted. We all scouted closer to each other.
"10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5" we all shouted. I quickly made my way over to Clarke. "3. 2. 1" I smiled wide at her excitement. "0" we screamed at the top of our lungs. I grabbed her waist with one hand and leaned in to kiss her. "Happy new year" I whispered. "Happy new year" she repeated, grasped my jacket and closed the distance between our lips. It wasn't the first time we kissed, but it still felt like it was.
"Good job Raven" I thumbed her up when I heard the fireworks detonate. "That's a bit sad for Jasper and the love triangle" Clarke pouted. I didn't understand what she meant at first, but after a quick glance around us I got it. We all got a new year kiss, except them. "Oh my god" Clarke pulled my jacket a bit to get my attention. "What-" I was about to ask before I saw it. "The fuck" I finished when my brain analyzed what was happening in front of my eyes. "Anya.." I murmured, looking around for my sister. She probably ran away when she saw Raven and Luna kissing. "Go find her" Clarke knew what I was thinking about. "Thanks" I kissed her again and started searching for her with Tristan.
"Hey Anya" I exhaled when I finally found her sitting alone. "You're not with your new year kiss" she banthered. "What about yours?" I decided to go straight to the point. "Busy kissing Luna" her faced dropped slightly. "I'm so sorry for you Anya. But it's just a New Year kiss, it's not like they just got engaged forever. I'm sure eventually-" I tried to lift up her soul but she stopped me in my tracks. "No you don't get it Lex, me and Raven have known each other for like forever and she had so many occasions to choose me, before Luna walked in our lives. Even if I hate it, I can't deny they have a lot of chemistry and their relation developed so quickly. Maybe she's just not mine to love" Anya sadly smiled. "I'm sure you'll find the right person for you at the right time" I assured her. "But what if I can't love anyone nearly as much as how I loved her" my sister turned her head to look at me. "You never love anybody the same way" I affirmed. "That's easy to say for you, you've never loved anyone else than Clarke" Anya nudged me playfully. "It's true, but it could've changed at some point" I admitted. "When I was not doing great, I started seeing this girl, Costia. We went on dates and all the things couples do. If it would've continued that way, I'm positive I would've developed real feelings for her" I explained briefly when my sister gave me a puzzled look.
"Is she nice?" Anya asked me. "Yes, she is. Maybe I could introduce you to her. A rebound never hurt anyone" I shrugged. "Hmm. That's a good idea" my sister surprisingly approved. "I'll do it when we come back" I replied amd immediately thought of something I haven't planned. "Are you still going to come live with us?" I questioned her. "Yes. Even though I could just buy the mansion next to yours" she joked, but in fact, she could if she wanted.
"I miss her" I murmured. "Mom?" My sister asked. "Yeah" I nodded. "I miss her too. I'm sure she would be extremely proud of what you're doing for these kids" Anya wrapped a arm around my shoulder. "Dad said the same thing" I giggled. "Because it's true" she assured me. "What are you going to do with your part of the heritage?" I changed the subject. "I don't know yet" she admitted. "You'll find your path one day. I think I found mine" I smiled. "The kids" me sister affirmed more than asked. "Yes" I nodded. "But even with the house or should I say the mansion you bought and the money you'll spend on their well-being, you'll still have billions of dollars to invest" my sister remarked. "I'll figure it out. You should too" I stated. "Yeah. Anyway, enough of sad talk. We should go back to the others. Your girl is probably wondering why it takes you so long and Jasper probably feels alone" she got up and held a hand out. "True" she helped me up.
