I listen as Fire opens the door. She came home from getting something to cook for dinner. She comes in with taco mixes and taco ingredients. I sit on the stool in my recording room and strum the guitar some.
A while later, she comes in and checks on me for dinner.
"Tacos are ready," she says. "Also, I love the rhythm you've got going there."
I smile and peck her lips. We go into the kitchen with the rest of the boys an eat tacos. We were all saying a prayer as we went by and one thing we're thankful for.
"I'm thankful that I can call Christina as my own," said Corbyn, going around the table as we speak.
"I'm thankful for my fans," said Daniel. It goes to Zach, until it comes to me.
"I'm thankful for Fire, having her change and put up with us is a lot to ask for," I chuckle.
We eat until it's time to go to bed, since it's almost 10, and we had a show to do tomorrow. All of us are supposed to put our phones down by 10 and be asleep in bed by 12.
I sit at the stool again, strumming the guitar. I was playing, once again, my own song covers; Runnin' by Beyoncé.
I him lightly as Fire opens the door again, admiring what I was doing.
"Hey, babe," I say, still focusing on the guitar.
"Hey, I thought I heard a musical genius in here," she laughs lightly, coming in and kissing my cheek.
I kiss back, turning my head slightly.
"So, I should be heading to bed soon," she says. "What's the song you're playing, anyways?" she asks as I hum the lyrics.
"Why don't you sit down on the couch right there and listen?" I ask, smiling. She smiles, sitting down, fidgeting with her pocket knife.
These four lonely walls have changed the way I feel
The way I feel
I'm standing still
And nothing else matters now, you're not here
So where are you?
I've been callin' you
I'm missin' you
Where else can I go? Where else can I go?
Chasin' you, chasin' you
Memories turn to dust
Please don't bury us, I got you
I got you
Runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin'
Runnin', runnin', runnin'
Ain't runnin' from myself no more
Together we'll win it all
I ain't runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin'
Runnin', runnin', runnin'
Ain't runnin' from myself no more
I'm ready to face it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all
I've outrun the fears that chased
They're standin' still
I'm runnin' still
I'm runnin' still
And every voice that cried inside my head, forever drives
Forever drives
I've killed the lights, oh
Where else can I go?
And where else can I go?
Chasing you, chasing you oh
Runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin'
Runnin', runnin', runnin'
Ain't runnin' from myself no more
Together we'll win it all
I ain't runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin'
Runnin', runnin', runnin'
Ain't runnin' from myself no more
I'm ready to face it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all
If I lose myself, I lose it all
I strum the guitar lightly as I hear a snoring Fire. She has her pocket knife in her hand, and I'm scared she'll hurt herself with it on accident.
I carefully take the pocket knife out of her hand and close it, putting it in my back pocket. Carefully, I pick her up, taking her upstairs to our shared room.
I walk in, and Daniel smiles at me. "Looks like you've got a handful on you," he laughs lightly.
I laugh back. "Yeah, but she's my handful."
I carefully lay her on her bed and cover her up. I kiss her head softly. "Nighty-night, Fire."
