Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights?

“Are you sure this is okay?” I asked as we stood in front of the house where the party had already started.

“Yeah, now stop asking questions and let's partyyyy” Lily replied linking arms with me and dragging me in.

I was really enjoying myself, so far there wasn't any horrible experience and I was lightheaded. It made me take my mind off things.

I decided to look around and in the process, my eyes caught something at the window and I walked over to it. Looking out the window, I saw someone at a corner of the street holding up a balloon, staring directly at me!

All the street lights were turned off and the only one on was the one directly above the person staring at me. The person had on the mask of a clown and held up a sign. On the sign read:

‘I see you ’

In shock and fright I quickly pulled the curtains close and turned around and Lily was staring at me, shock, confusion and fear in her wide eyes and I slumped, my back to the wall and Lily walked over to me.

“Luna, you okay?” She asked crouching down beside me.

“Did you see it?” I asked her and she nodded with a look of concern.

“My life is a mess, how can anyone live like this?” I asked again, more to myself.

“You know what, you don't need to go home this night, crash at my place. I'll leave you to yourself, I'm leaving” Lily said.

“Lily... You don't have to be this close to me, don't pity me, I just don't want to drag you into this. You can leave me, I won't hold it against you” I said almost crying.

“Don't be silly, I will never leave you. No matter what happens, I'll still be with you” She replied. "I don't pity you, I understand you” she added.

“Thanks Lily, be safe” I said standing up.

“Drown all your thoughts tonight, your granddad and your aunt do not deserve your tears” She said reassuringly and standing up too.

“Aren't you scared?” I asked her

“You don't remember? Horror is my favorite genre” She said, winked and walked away.

That is my best friend.

That I am so scared for, what if something happens to her, what if the same thing that happened to Zoe, Sophia and Cynthia happens to her?

After all, demons travelled too, so it was possible for grandad to leave the country side and come kill my only remaining best friend.

But what was the deal about killing my best friends? Why did all this have to happen?

Why did it have to happen to me?!

I got tired of the party after a long while and decided to go home. I do not mean that home, I mean Lily's house.

When I got into her room, she was asleep and the lights were turned off so I decided not to make any noise so I wouldn't disturb her. So I left the lights off, changed out of my outfit quietly and quietly slid under the blanket unto the bed and laid beside her. I'm hoping for a very nice rest in a long while.

The next morning, I woke up feeling so much more better,I slept well. This was the first time since I got back from the country side that I slept without waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to bed. I also slept without any nightmares.
