"People say the internet brings only bad things to the younger generation but not for Canadian singing vine sensation Shawn Mendes. With millions of fans worldwide and iTunes sales soaring, anyone can safely say that Shawn will be staying for a long time. So can we please welcome to the stage the one and only Shawn Mendes."

I walked on the stage and was greeted by Ellen and took my seat as rehearsed.

"It's lovely to have you here Shawn," Ellen smiled.

"Well it's an honour to be here, Ellen," I said truthfully because who wouldn't be honoured to go on the Ellen show, "I am a huge fan of this show and my dream from a young age was to one day be able to come on here myself."

"Well you've done well for yourself there then!" Ellen laughed.

"I sure have," I replied, "I still honestly can't believe this is all happening. Just 6 months ago I was playing the guitar in my bedroom learning off all the youtube videos. This has all honestly happened too fast to process."

"I bet it has. All it took was one vine and you were on the road to stardom."

"I guess," I said, "I did a cover of 'As Long as you Love me' by Justin Bieber and it got over 10,000 likes in a day. I kept posting vines after that and I guess my career took off."

"It surely did," Ellen replied, "I mean you've come out with a four song EP recently, haven't you?"

"Yes I have," I smiled because I'm so proud of those songs.

"Would you mind performing one for us please?" Ellen asked.

"Sure!" I agreed as I took my place on stage, "I dedicate this to my beautiful girlfriend who is in the audience. She really doesn't believe in herself but she really should because she is such an amazing person."

I picked up my guitar and started strumming the chords.
