I walk up to Dylan and hold out my hand " Hi. My name is Kenna. Kenna Foster, I just moved here from Colorado a few months ago. What's your name?" I say. Dylan st ads they're surprised, clearly he recognises me. I still hold out my hand and he finally realised that he's just been standing there and shakes it.
" My names Dylan. But are you sure we haven't met before." He asks. A feeling inside me is wanting to tell him that its me but then I remember what had happens and I shake me head.
" Sorry I've never seen you before in my life. Even if I did it was probably at like a restaurant or something." I'll tell ya later why I said that but for now I'm busy.
Jayce gives me a questioned look and I look down to see that we're still holding hands and I take my hand away from Dylan's grasp. Dylan's face fills with confusion and I just walk off and go towards Olly and Jayce.
" For some reason I feel like I should ask you what that was about." Olly says to me.
" Nothing big but I'll tell ya later." I shrug " But what's Dylan doing here anyway?"
" He was part of the hockey team until a couple of weeks ago when he quit. Dunno why but he did. Why do you wanna know? Do you fancy him?" Jayce says poking me. What is it and people poking me?
I take laugh " Haha good joke but seriously, why did he quit?"
" I don't know why don't you ask him Nosy Ninny." Jayce says and I stick my tongue out at him and he does the same, Olly laughs.
Jayce pulls out his phone and I see Tatum's name pop up on the screen, so I turn my head away but not before seeing Jayce put his phone back in his back pocket.
" So." Olly starts " Which house you going to?" He asks me. In all honesty I didn't know and I shake my head.
" I don't know but right now I don't wanna go home. Whichever one I would be going to." I say and Olly nods.
" My house it is then." Olly says and we walk out the door Jayce following behind.
●●●●
" So you're saying that you already knew Dylan?" Jayce asks. We were now at Olly's house, sitting in the living room with me and Jayce on the sofa, my feet set on top of his legs, and Olly on the giant beanbag and when I say giant, I mean as bug as a dining room table.
" Yeah. He was my only friend until I moved here." I could see Jayce's gears turning in his mind, and then see a look that he had finally realised what I'm saying.
The day we had a little argument and I had told him everything, I had mentioned about how I only had one friend and he ditched me for his other friends and then moved.
" You mean that he...." he trials off but I already knew what he was going to say, and I nod in agreement.
I look over at Olly to see that he had fallen asleep watching Monsters Inc. On the Tv and I chuckle. I look back at Jayce and notice something. His eyes were brown. The silence thickens so I turn back to the Tv and watch it.
" How are the twins?" I ask breaking the silence.
" They're alright. Patrick has been asking when he'll see you again." Jayce half chuckles " He says to stay away from you and that your his girlfriend."
I smile. I hope I can see them soon its been to long and so need them to know that I'm alright. I feel bad for them, how does their stepmom treat them? Does she treat just as bad? I decide to erase that thought from my mind and remember so.watching that I wanted to ask Jayce.
" Ya know." I start " Alvin told me that you talk about me quite often." I say looking over at him, his brown eyes staring into my green ones.
He quickly looks away wresting his chin in his hand that was kept up against the couch arm and I notice a hunt of flush in his cheeks" I don't talk about you quite often." He mumbles and I laugh.
" Uh-huh sure...." I say dryly and stand up to get a glass of water from the kitchen.
Jayce follows and scoffs " Look, I might complains out how awful and annoying and how when you.....ANYWAYS its not like I don't notice you when you'd stare at me in class."
I open the kitchen cabinet and reach for a glass and then go to the fridge to fill it up with water. " I do not!" I exclaim.
Jayce walks closer to me and only stops when we are an inch apart, and I can feel my face heating up " I don't believe you." He says quietly and I'm certain he could hear my heart thumping loudly in my chest. Not sure why but it is.
" Well then I don't believe you either." I say quietly as well. We just stand like that for a second in silence when I finally whip around, away from Jayce, and walk into the pantry. Thankfully Jayce didn't follow me in there.
I look around, there was literally nothing but cobwebs in here, but its better than being out there right now.
" There's not any food in there." Jayce says from the kitchen.
" Does he have any food in his house?" I ask coming out of the pantry. Jayce shrugs.
" Beats me. Wanna order pizza?" I nod and he starts to dial the number to the pizza place.
I hear my phone beep and I take it out of my back pocket. It was a text from an unknown number but I open it anyways.
Unknown: Hey it's me
Me: Can you be more specific?
Unknown: Sorry, it's Dylan
I take a deep breath and I hear Jayce come and stand behind me, clearly reading my texts over my shoulder. I sigh and type.
Me: You mean that one guy from the hockey rink?
I see the three dots pop up and then disappear on my phone screen meaning that he was typing something. After about 5 more minutes for a text back I set my phone down on the counter. A grin creeps up my face because I know that he knows that I'm just acting like I don't know him, and I'm enjoying torturing him. He deserves it.
Jayce puts his hands on the top of my head and rest his chin onto his hands and sighs " You're going to have to tell him one day." He says.
I shrug " Yeah I know, but for now can we can this a secret. Please?" I say.
Jayce groans " Fine."
" Thank you."
" Of course Princess."
