Times I Wish it were Me

Jack woke up early hearing Tooth whimpering in her sleep. He stood up and walked over to her bed and sat at the edge of it putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Hey come on wake up." Jack said. Tooth hearing his voice snapped her eyes open still whimpering. Jack took her in his arms carefully and hugged her.

"It's ok Tooth...." Jack said soothingly. Tooth cried into his shoulder terrified by the nightmare that she had.

*Nightmare*

She sat in her palace. Watching all the fairies bring back teeth and telling them more orders and where to find teeth, thinking it would be a good idea to see what the teeth that the fairies brought back she got up from her spot and flew down to a section of the palace where more fairies were placing teeth and inspected them as the put them away. As she was doing so she heard a laugh. She turned to be greeted by a smiling face. Jack. Being fawned over by her fairies.

"Ladies!" Tooth said with a small laugh,"Give the guy some space. And get back to work." She told them a few places where teeth were and they were off flying in the directions they were given. Tooth still laughing a little approached Jack.

" I see someone isn't as busy as I thought he would be today." Tooth said with a smile.

"Well you know how I have to make time for a certain someone." Jack grinned after he was done talking. Tooth had a blush spreading across her cheeks and Jack let out a small laugh seeing it. Suddenly the palace started to fade from Tooth's view. It was like she was passing out. And sure enough she did. All she could hear before she was out was Jack's voice and then everything was black.

She woke up lying on the floor in some type of sticky red substance. She had a confused face on and then realized what it was and backed away. She looked to see where the blood came from and her eyes landed on a  pale white boy in a pool of blood. Her heart skipped a beat and her wings drooped as her eyes froze on his unmoving body. She rushed to his side and fell to her knees tears streaming down her face.

"Jack! Noo!" She yelled with her voice cracking due to her crying. And then she heard a laugh an evil dark laugh, one she knew to well. She looked around and a shadow appeared on the wall of her palace in front of her.....

*End of Nightmare*

Jack had woke her up before she saw what was next. She held him close and cried more, so glad he was ok. Jack sat there Tooth in his arms and head on her shoulder trying to calm down. He had really wished that it was him in this terror instead of Tooth. She had done nothing to deserve this. And this was one of the first times Jack wished it was him instead of her.

As the days went by Tooth got more and more used to her human body. And not being able to fly around during and get to certain places on her own - like her palace- North kept her at the pole. With her there she could still give orders to her fairies when they came. But being like Tooth they could find teeth without her power now, yet, they wanted to make her feel as useful as she always will be.

"Muller, sector 3! Lateral in sizer, sector 5!" Tooth said giving orders to the fairies around her. They all nodded and took off out of the pole and Tooth did what she always does now. Sits and waits. But waits for what? Her wings to appear? That wouldn't happen. Pitch used dark magic and took them away. There was no getting her wings back without him doing it himself. Jack sat on one of the rafters looking down at Tooth. His face saddened as she sat down in her bed in the infirmary. Usually she was all full of life and up and flying about. But now she had no choice but to sit in her bed. She wasn't allowed to leave the pole without someone with her. Or hardly allowed to leave her room being afraid something would happen to her. Jack flew down and landed in front of her on her bed. Tooth looked up at him with a sad look. Not being able to fly was really hard on her. Jack came closer and hugged her tightly. She hugged him back burying her head in his shoulder as she began to cry. Neither of them new how much time passed. Other than they needed to be with each other right now. And Jack sitting there holding her wishing it was him in her place.
