Beep! Beep! Beep!
My alarm went off precisely at five thirty in the morning. Being loud and annoying as usual. Just how I like it.
Summer is finally over! I can finally see my friends and go back to school for my senior year of high school. Working at McDonald's everyday did not help either. Seeing the same faces practically every week, which means those people are going to get fat. They eat way to much junk food.
As those current customers came by once or twice a week, I did have one come everyday. He would order his usual coffee and a sausage McGriddle when he came in for breakfast. Then when he came in for lunch he would order one of the salads, and a large cup for sweet tea.
It's unusual for someone to ask for sweet tea. Not many people like it in New Jersey. With that, I'm one of the ones who do like it. I'm from Florida, so I know how I like my tea.
I moved to New Jersey two years ago. My parents got a divorce, and i was forced to move up north with my mom. My brother Jason stayed down in Florida with my dad, since he was at the University of Florida. He was on a football scholarship.
While my brother played football, I was either running or reading. I love to read. Where ever I go i will always have a book with me. If i'm not reading, i'm running. I am on the schools track team after all.
I quickly got changed into a pair of jeans, my track shirt, and a jacket. I never leave my jacket behind. It makes me feel secure, and warm. Its defiantly not as warm as it was in Florida.
I walked out of my room and into the kitchen to make some toast, and a glass of orange juice. After eating I brushed my teeth and did my wavy, dirty-blonde, hair. I never wear make-up though. Why wear make-up, when you are fine the way you are. God created you that way, so why change it?
Once I made sure my hair was just the way i wanted it, I grabbed my back pack, and walked out silently so that I would not wake my mom up. She has to work night shifts from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM, at the hospital two blocks from my house, so she's exhausted.
Stepping outside, I smell the fresh morning dew, and see the small rays of the sun starting to pop up. This is my favorite part of the day. It's quiet and soothing in the mornings, which is rare to find in New Jersey. The city is always crowded with obnoxious people.
Unlike Florida, where I could take a bus to school, I have to walk. It's only a mile away, so if I leave by six fifteen, I'll defiantly be there by six thirty five. Then it me time to go to the library and check out all of the new books. Like I said, I am a book nerd. This summer alone i have read over thirty books, which is pretty good considering I had to work.
As I continue walking to school I noticed how some of the houses, and yards changed. Most had plants, and summer decorations, while others were surrounded by overgrown grass. One house in particular caught my attention. It had a large deck, with plotted plants on pedestals. The house was painted a sky blue shade, and looked to be fairly large. It looked like the house I drew in first grade.
I don't remember much from first grade, not even who the teacher was, but I did remember how the teacher had us draw our dream houses. I drew a house looking exactly like the one in front of me... weird..
After starring at it for a while, I started to walk again. Three more turns from now and I would be at school. Which was like a five minute walk. I would run, but then I would look nasty and sweaty. I don't want to show up to school looking like that.
By the time I reached the school it was six forty. Stopping to stare at that House put me behind schedule, but I sill had thirty minutes before the first bell rang. The first thing i should do is go and fund my schedule, but i'd rather go to the library. They won't count you late if you are waiting in line to get your schedule.
As I walked into the library a sense of comfort overcomes me. The familiar books and shelf's surround mesending me into a bliss. I've missed this library so much, and was in such a daze I didn't realize the teacher in front of me, until I ran into him.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I said looking down, feeling slightly embarrassed. I really did not want to look up and confront the man I just ran into. I do not want to see his faced filled with rage, and confusion. Especially on the first day of school.
"It's fine Lay.. Er.. Young Lady, it's my fault, I should have saw You coming, but I was kinda dazing off at the moment.." he said frantically. "Ummm.. well if you will excuse me, I really need to be heading to my classroom." With that he quickly walked off, with me standing there still embarrassed.
It took me a while to recollect myself, and start looking at the books. I've read almost every book in here, but I know there are some I would read again. Like "The Forbidden Game".
The book is so enchanting. The story of love, and challenges just drew me in. Not to mention the devilishly hottie, Julian. He's the shadow prince who fell in love with young Jenny at the age of five. He lures her into his world, as well as her six friends. To escape him they have to play games. If Jenny loses she has to stay with Julian forever. If Jenny wins, she gets to leave the game.
I just love this book so much! I've read it at least seven times. Thats's the one thing i've actually begged my mom for, to get me this book. I don't ask for much at all. She only replied like;
"You read to much, go out and get some sun, go to the mall. Just act like a normal teenager."
For me reading is normal. At least i'm not doing anything bad. Most teenagers are doing drugs, or going out stealing things. If i'm not normal then, normal must not be a good thing.
I picked up "The Forbidden Game" And decided to read again. You always discover something you didn't see before. So I walked up to the librarian, and asked her to check the book out for me. Once finished I walked out of the library and sat against the wall. Holding the book in my hand I opened it to the first chapter, and began to read.
Jenny glanced back over her shoulder. They were still behind her...
RINNNGGGGGG
Sighing I got up and walked towards the office to get my schedule. Thankfully not many people were in the line yet. I got my schedule and looked down at.
Period Class Teacher Rm/P

2nd Ap Calc Mr. Wilson Rm. 161
3rd Free Period Mr. Miles Rm. 64

Im happy with my schedule, because I love all of these teachers. Well all of them besides Mr. Miles. I have never had him before. I hope he is a wonderful teacher. I don't want some teacher who does not know what he is doing, or teaching.
Looking down once more at my schedule, I start to head off to Mr. Owens class. I'm so exited! It's the first day of senior year!
