"Kathryn!" I heard my Mom's voice calling me from downstairs from where I was singing while painting my walls of my new room an aqua blue color.

"Coming mom!" I replied back setting the paint roller down before exiting my room into the hallway filled with empty rooms and descended the smooth wooden staircase of a two-hundred year old house made of stone that has recently been renovated.

I entered the master living room with high ceiling and creme walls, a big fireplace and double glass french doors that leads to the main entrance and kitchen.

"You called." I spoke. Mom just dumped empty boxes into the trash bag.

She looked my way. "Yes, I needed to go into town for some nails for the frames, I was thinking while were there we can stop to eat."

I nodded. "Sounds cool."

"Ok, let me just go find my keys and we can go."

When she found her keys, we exited the house onto the wrap around porch and down the steps to the red Toyota Camry.

While heading into town I took a moment to take in the view of the Scottish countryside of Fife.

Sharp, jagged cliffs of large rock.

Rolling green hills.

White signs first written in Scottish Gaelic and underneath in English.

I'll admit it is beautiful here, it truly is.

But I miss my home in Louisiana.

Moving to another country was the last thing on my list. I was happy with being where we're at.

But when Mom told me about us moving to Scotland a few months ago for her new job things just began to unravel.

I still remember that day like it was yesterday.

<>**<>Flashback<>**<>

I just got off the noisy yellow school bus. I went up the brick porch steps and entered the house and closed the door from behind. "Mom I'm home!"

"I'm in here!"

Placing my backpack on the table next to the door I went to the kitchen where mom is sitting at the table. "Hey mom," I smiled then notice there was a couple of boxes on the counter. One of them filled with kitchen appliances. "What's with the boxes? Are you remodeling or something?"

She looked at me with a nervous look in her eyes. Somethings up. "Honey come have a seat I need to talk to you." I did as I was told. Taking a deep breath. "Last week I got laid off of my job at the hospital." I gasped. "Why? What happened?" She shook her head. "I honestly don't know." "You will be able to get another job right?" She nodded. "Yes cause I got offered a job." "Really?!"

She nodded again.

"Thats awesome," I paused. "Where at?"

Mom pressed her lips in a thin line. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about," I continued to listen to what she needed to talk to about. "The job isn't going to be here.... going to be in Scotland and-"

I cut her off. "What?! Scotland?! Mom your not seriously thinking of us moving there are you?!"

This can't be happening right now.

"I've already accepted the offer Kathryn."

I shook my head tears already brimming my eyes. "I don't want to move there mom our home is here."

"I'm sorry I've already made the arrangements."

"Mom, please."

"I really am sorry, sweetheart. I really need this job. We're leaving the following weekend."

"That will be one pound mam." the lady at the front desk told me the price for m&ms.

I felt around in my pocket for some change..only to find out I left it at the house.

Great, just great.

Handing the candy to the lady, I turned around and began to make my way to the door walked the exit the store trying my best to ignore teens whispering about me.

Not letting it bother me I walked out of the store and headed out towards the dock by the village overlooking the shimmering blue bay. There were some people sitting on the benches and others were out in the water fishing.

Closing my eyes I inhaled the scent of the salty ocean air and fried fish coming from a small fish and chip shack hearing the seagull squawking in the sky. I stayed there for a bit longer till mom called letting me know she's done shopping and to me her at the car.

With a sigh I turned on my heel and strolled on back into the village.

A/N: Hey readers, you may have realized that I accidently deleted this story and I tried finding a way to bring it back only to learn that once its gone its gone forever. *sigh* Well, I just want to say, it's I'm bringing it back. So, here it is and enjoy!
