We open the MV to a school setting. Our main protagonist sits alone at her desk while her classmates were blurred behind her, drawing in her notebook as everyone left her alone.
The thumping of a heartbeat echoed amongst the noise of the background. As the thumping continues to grow louder in sound, red dots start to appear on the blurred bodies of our protagonist's classmates as well as the protagonist herself.
Spanning out, we can clearly see that the red dots are people's hearts before we plunge into the pages of the notebook.
- Through the drawings in the notebook, we are told the story of our main protagonist. Both the cartoon and the live action reflect each other.
Our protagonist surrounds herself with friends who love her, but as soon as she shows that she loves them they leave her all alone, taking a piece of her heart with them. This continues until she decides to lock her heart and not show emotions.
This is where the opening finally begins to connect, as a boy appears in front of her, making her heart pound. Through drawings and live moments, we can see how he has slowly broken down her walls, and how she is willing to give her heart out to him.
But as soon as she gave her heart to him, he ripped it, throwing half of it to the ground and destroying it. The other half he threw back to her. Words in black appeared behind him "사랑에 빠진 분"
He left her alone, and the drawing slowly turned into real life, the rain pouring onto our protagonist as she was left alone in the park. Her tears wouldn't come out, but she was wiping her eyes nonetheless, watching the destroyed half of her heart is washed away with the pouring rain.
Suddenly, she was sheltered, not feeling the droplets of water on her. As she looked up, she saw that she was protected by a giant lotus flower, acting as an umbrella. She touched the stem of the flower, shivering from the cold.
Suddenly, a stray root of the flower grabbed onto her hand while another plunged itself into her heart. With her free hand, she clutched her heart as she felt the vine expand to fill the empty void.
An explosion of flower petals transitioned us to our next scene, where our protagonist is surrounded by the non-reflective mirrors of the maze. As she turns around, we can see the branding of a lotus flower on the back of her neck.
